SanzieneleOn June 24 ,Orthodox and Catholic Christians celebrate the birth of John the Baptist. This festival is a celebration dedicated to good fairies, known popularly as the “Sanzienele” or “Dragaica”. Sanzienele ;originated in an ancient solar cult. The name is probably taken from St Diana, goddess SILVESTRA. Celebration marks the beginning of summer, around the time that June 21 is the summer solstice. In popular belief, “Sanzienele” were considered to be some beautiful women, true priestesses of the sun, nocturnal divinity hidden by dark forests, unexplored by humans.  Fairies are floating in the air or walk on the ground in the night of 23 /24 June, singing and dancing, filled with married women fecundity, breeding animals and birds, and banish suffering people. In the morning before celebration’s sunrise people gather flowers in wreaths ,wove it and they threw on the roof. It is believed that people will live long if the crown remains at the roof or on the contrary it will die quickly when wreath, slip or fall off the roof edge.

Transfiguration(Schimbarea la fata) Orthodox and Catholic Christians celebrate the

Transfiguration on August 6th - one of the biggest religious holiday. This day has the meaning the moment when the Savior apostles, located on Mount Tabor, were convinced that Hi is not just a prophet of God, but the Son of God. It is believed that on this day, it's not good to argue with anyone or be scolded by someone, as it will be all year until the next feast of the Transfiguration.

St. Mary of the Assumption Every year on August 15 when they glorify the Theotokos ,the

moment that St Mary gave her soul to his son, Jesus. Holy books say that when He pleased to take His Mother in Heaven, He sent an angel to prepare her. God's Messenger was the Archangel Gabriel, who gave her the wonderful news that she has been chosen to give birth to the Savior of the world. If then Gabriel wore a white lily in his hands, this time he brought Mary a palm branch (symbol of victory over death). Our Lady has said goodbye to all those present, blessed and promised that he would pray for them and will protect them.   She gave than her soul to Jesus, who appeared on a throne surrounded by cherubim. Mother of God was taken by disciples in Gethsemane Garden Tomb, where Jesus prayed on Maundy Thursday before being betrayed, tried and crucified. St. Thomas cams 3 days after the funeral and, at His request, His Disciples have opened the tomb, When They Saw That the tomb is empty. Our Lady's body was lifted into Heaven by angels and led in the Garden of Eden. Assumption is the biggest holiday of the summer, thinking that milestone day for Summer.

Beheading of St. John the Baptist• On August 29 there is a celebration in memory of the

Beheading of St. John the Baptist.  This saint was told by Jesus to be above than all those born of women and more than prophets. He is the one who leapt in his mother's womb and preached Christ and those on earth and those in hell. He went outside nature, and he baptized Jesus the untainted and above all. He was beheaded by Herod Antipas after a scam, because he accuses of togetherness without law Herodias. In this day nothing is cut with a knife, it is broken by hand, and all games are prohibited and during this period almost all the cattle get down from the mountains
