We extend a warm welcome to all our new parishioners!

As a reminder, we encourage you to register with us. Forms may be obtained at the rectory or ask an usher at the church.

We look forward to meeting you!

Thought for the Week

Prayer is our connection with God. When Jesus prayed, he called His Father, “Abba”. “Abba” is the word in

our language that means, ”Daddy”. What name could be more endearing than, “Daddy”?

When we pray we can call God, “Daddy”, and relate to him in this way. Isn’t that great?

Respect Life

“The innocent victims of abortion, children who die of hunger and from bombings, immigrants who drown in the search

for a better tomorrow, the elderly or sick who are considered a burden, the victims of terrorism, wars, violence, drug

trafficking, the environment devastated by man’s predatory relationship with nature: At stake in all of this is the gift

of God, of which we are noble stewards, but not masters.”

(Pope Francis; address to U.S, Bishops in Washington D.C.—September 2016)

The Eucharist

“Happy is the soul that knows how to find Jesus in the Eucharist, and the Eucharist in all things!”

(St. Peter Julian Eymard)

Words from Pope Francis

“A Christianity which ‘does’ little in practice,

while incessantly ‘explaining’ its teachings is dangerously unbalanced.

Pantry Needs:

Next week is food donation weekend. We are particularly in need of:

Bar Soap; Pancake Mix; Syrup; Pasta Side dishes; Prepared Potato Dishes; Rice-a-Roni.

Thank you, as always, for your generosity and thoughtfulness!

Consoling the Heart of Jesus Retreat

Our retreat began last Wednesday, but it is not too late to join in. If you would like to take part in this wonder-

ful retreat, call Theresa Piekut at 631-848-7612.

Don’t be intimidated by the 10 week time-frame. If you miss a session or two, you can always catch up!

A Scripture to Ponder……

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.

In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.”

(Proverbs 3:5)

Just a Thought…

God loves us so much that

sometimes He gives

us what we need,

and not what we ask for.

FAITH FORMATION

Father Jeff, the entire Pastoral Staff, the Catechists and I extend our congratulations to the families of the

following children who recently received their First Eucharist:

Isabella Aceto, Jerry Alberti, Sam Alessi, Kathleen Alt, Alexis Antino, Bennett Arasa, Isabella Arena,

Hailey Babb, Carter Baumeister, Juliette Bowes, Hope Buchner, Alyssa Burghardt, Violet Carpinone,

Ashley Caruso, Alexander Clareen, Matteo Cortina, Natalee Cortina, Julia D’onofrio, Mathew Dungey,

Zachary Dungey, Tyler Froelich, Shane Hall, Nicholas Hernandez, Holly Jacobs, Jocelyn Kavanaugh,

Jordan Kavanagh-Ferraro, Dylan Kent, Julianne Kowalski, Daniel Laieta, Abigail Leonard, Catherine

Leonard, Francis Lucia, Michael Mackenzie, Natalie Malczewski, Gavin Mangano, Mia Mangano,

Christopher Mathers, Steven Meier, Jenna Miller, Michael Molfetto, Peyton Mudzinski, Anthony Mullen,

Lillian Mulvey, Michela Nobre, Abby Parkinson, Jillian Portuese, Gianna Ruggero, Isabelle Scherl, Branon

Smith, Angelina Sparacino, Andrew Stiene, Genevieve Stewart, Ava Vecchio, Olivia Vecchio, Nora White,

Terence Winters and Joan Yantsos.

A special thank you goes to our parishioners who were present at the Masses and so lovingly affirmed the

young children and their parents, offering their prayers for all. We are so truly blessed as a parish, support-

ing and encouraging one another on our faith journeys. I know that Father Jeff joins me in thanking all of

you for choosing our parish to worship in, and to become engaged in the various ministries and life of our

parish. Father Jeff’s and Father Melly’s Homilies at each Mass certainly provided a way for the children

and their families to reflect on the meaning of Eucharist in their lives. I am so grateful to Carrie Logan, our

Music Director, for making the CD for our new meditation song that the children could practice with

throughout the year. Carrie and the cantors she assigned to the Masses, Pat, Jennifer and Nora, inspired the

children to so joyously sing their song. As the words of the song reminded us, may we always go forth from

Mass to bring Jesus’ love, joy and peace to all we encounter.

As our Catechetical year ended, Father Jeff and I gathered with our Catechists to show our appreciation for

their devotion to the ministry. These get-togethers provided an opportunity to pray together, share some

refreshments and to just enjoy each other’s company. Many Catechists will be returning to teach in

September and several new Catechists have already decided to become a part of our group. I would be more

than happy to discuss the possibility with anyone who may feel called by the Lord to share their faith with

the young people of our parish.

Plans for our 2016-17 Catechetical Year are already underway. Registration will take place in the parish

center on Sunday, June 26 following all of our Masses, on Monday June 27 from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m., on

Tuesday June 28 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., and on Friday, July 1 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. The families of

all children and teens entering our Levels 1 through 8, and those receiving Confirmation in October should

register. Baptismal certificates for those children entering Level 1 should be presented, as well as records of

those transferring from other parishes. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns, or if

you are not able to register during the days offered. Registration for our Vacation Bible Camp, being held

the week of July 18, continues. Details about the week can be found in our bulletin. May our parishioners of

every age group continue to seek ways to grow in our faith, becoming one with the Lord and each other.

In the peace of Christ,

Monday is Memorial Day and we would like to recognize and show our

sincere appreciation to all of the men and women who are serving their
