Roman Petushkov lost both of his legs in a car accident in February 2006. But in September of that same year he took an active part in both Biathlon and Cross-Country Skiing competitions. Since then, he's been on fire, racing to top performances on the international world sports stage.

In 2010 Dmitry Medvedev (the third President of Russia) presented Roman the medal of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland. (26/10/2010)

February 2013 - IPC Athlete of the Month2013 He won the champion title in the sprint category, sitting. Next day Roman showed the best time (41:02.4.) the 15-kilometre distance.(IPC Nordic Skiing World Cup, Sweden Solleftea ) January 2012 - IPC Athlete of the Month 2011-12 He won 2 gold medals (IPC Nordic Skiing World Cup, Minneapolis) 2011-12 He took 4 gold medals (IPC Nordic Skiing World Cup, Cable) 2011-12 He took the silver and 5 gold medals (IPC Nordic Skiing World Cup, Sjusjoen) 2010 Vancouver Paralympics - he won the silver

The Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games will take place 7-16 March. And Roman wants to be the best again.
