The roman government was a strange mix of a democracy and a republic. An interesting fact is that the people of rome took many of their ideas of government from the ancient greeks.

Patricians: Who have the economic power.

Plebeians: Without descent and lack any right.

Slaves: Not considered persons.

Equestrians: who come from the people, who have become rich by their business.

The roman economy never developed into anything terribly complex compared to modern economies.

Ancient rome was an agrarian and slave

Based economy whose main concern was feeding the best number of citizens and who populated the mediterrean region.

Contributions: all roads lead to rome.

The senate was retained because it gave prestige to the new regime.

Roman roads: roads were built in straight lines.

Milestone: one stretch of road stood a stone posts

Aqueducts: were used to save whole cities.

Although many languages were spoken across the roman empire, latin and greek were the dominant spoken and written languages for government, trade and communications.

As with many cultures, person's quality of life depend in many ways on their rank within the social structure.

Poor people, however, could only dream of such us life. Sweating it out in the city, they live in shabby.

In the field of roman art plastic excelled in two forms: the portrait realistic and historical relief.

In wall paintings that illuminates the walls of pompeian villas.

As in the mosaics that adorn the floors of roman houses.

Many goods were believed to have taken part in the founding of rome.

Roman religion was split in two: privately, families and households.

Publicly, the roman state honored many gods.
