Role of the enterprise
Safe transport policy includes the following:• Safe infrastucture;
• Safety of drivers;
• Safety of vehicles;
• Cargo safety.

Safety of drivers
• Careful selection of drivers;
• Medical check-up before the journey;
• Control and analysis of driving time and rest periods of the drivers;
• Sustainable training;
• Mobile communication;
• Drivers’ health insurance.
Safety of vehicles
• Usage of vehicles and semi-trailers that comply with necessary technical requirements;
• Annual technical inspection and certification;
• Equipment of satellite monitoring system;
• Obligatory technical inspection before the journey;
• Operative repair service at authorized VOLVO service centers;
• CASCO insurance for all vehicles;
• During transport any stops possible only at guarded parking places.
Cargo security
• If cargo positioning scheme is contradictory to secure cargo transportation, the driver (as foreseen by legal acts) has to refuse the commencement of the transport until the elimination of the drawbacks.
• The driver has no right to leave the loading place without proper securing of the cargo and without the forwarder’s permission.
Cargo safety
• Usage of reliable semi-trailers having 26 pairs of internal cargo securing eyelets;
• Tilts with protection;
• Timely replacement of fire extinguishers;
• Fixing straps, rubber anti-skid mats and, if necessary, chains must be in all vehicles;
• Cargo loading and securing monitored by a professional;
• Carrier’s liability insurance (CMR).
Problematic issues related with cargo securing
• Human factor – the driver’s fault;
• Insufficient responsibility of the consignor;
• The driver’s non-compliance with secure loading instructions;
• Absence of securing means;
• Quality of securing means.
Equipment
Every vehicle shall have:
• 15 fastening straps and 30 T-squares;
• Anti-skid mats;
• Four universal boards;
• In agreement with the consignor, chains, covering sheets, etc. may be additionally used.
