OPERACIONES a) He is responsible for operational planning, military operations execution

and monitorization.

1) Production of an operation plan (OPLAN).

2) Strategic transportation of contingents from their bases to ops area.

3) Conduction or monitorization of the execution of the operation.

b) He provides assessment to CHOD about the Strategic execution of

operations.

c) He is responsible for planning and execution of the designed exercises

d) He supervises the training and the validation of the operational

readiness of the Forces and Commands assigned to the Operational

Structure. He dictates directives for training and readiness of those

units.

1) Compilation of a Lessons Learned Database in relation to ops.

2) Evaluation and validation of contingents and units before their deployment.

Why there is a need for a religious support?

NECESSITY

• Military service implies the possible

greatest sacrifice, our lives, for our

country.

• Millenium-old tradition of chaplains in

Spanish Army and Navy since the

“Reconquest” times.

• Operations circumstances make apostolic

work bear fruit not common in peacetime.

• Special spirituality and mystic.

RIGHT

• Religious liberty is laid down in Spanish

Constitution as a fundamental right (i.e.

most protected group of rights).

• State is responsible for providing

both in Spain and abroad.

• There is a Religious Support Service in the

Spanish Armed Forces with Catholic

Chaplains supporting the units.

• As we speak, there are Catholic Chaplains

(4) deployed in operations, mainly in

numerous contingents.
