Content Types Supported Content delivery over IP supports four distinct types of programming and each type of content is enjoyed by a different audience for unique experiences.

1. Live Content: is generally about news, sports, musical events, and other dated content that is best enjoyed in near real time. This type of content provides instant enjoyment and information, and its value diminishes over time. Consumers generally are willing to pay a premium for sports programming and are willing to pay "some" for news.

2. VOD Content: is generally about neatly packaged content that is designed for entertainment value. The content can be movies, serials, or informative info about far-reaching subjects like health, house renovation, gardening, to hunting and fishing. This type of content is not "dated" and thus has a long shelf life. This type of content needs massive cloud storage since variety and choice are the attractive elements sought by consumers. Income opportunities are modest.

3. Catch Up: content is created from live content that is stored for later consumption. Even though it is viewed later, much of its

value is retained. This type of content needs to be provided with a solid "EPG" since content search is a frequent activity of users of catch up.

4. Advertising: targets sports programs since the demographics of sports content consumers show that the people allocate considerable funds for the experience and they generally have disposable income.

Overview

Middleware is the heart of any IPTV or OTT video platform. Often it is the first item to be selected in a search for IPTV and OTT solution. There are not many choices and most vendors are narrowly focused on middleware only.

DVEO created this middleware so we can have an end to end solution. Additionally, most of the middleware companies are not interested in low volume project. At the end of the day, we created both the player and the content manager. The player looks like the other well-known players. We however added support for client and server-side ad insertion and VOD functionality. As part of the middleware development we had to develop a "controller". This controller manages the activities of the authorized users and provides enablement's for ads and authentication. This control panel is crucial for modern middleware workflows. Today much of the ad serving and DRM comes from somewhere in the cloud. This controller then ends up as the gateway to both content and data to and from the player. Our controller is stand alone and available for use with our and third-party middleware.

The MIDDLEWARE CONTROLLER Server goes hand in hand with Zxora. It is the manager for everything that happens on the ZXORA platform. It manages the functions of the player, establishes security authentication, and manages ad insertion functionality. For extra measure it collects permitted information about each user's watching times and habits. This data provides great value as a means of targeted advertising.
