Blu-ray disc has been a consistent road map toemerging disc technologies. Blue-ray can store upto 54 GB, enough to hold about 4.5 hours of

high -definition video or more than 20 hours of standard video. And there are even plans inpipeline to develop a disc with twice that amountof storage.

Its very likely that the technology will beadopted as the next generation optical discformat for PC data storage and will replacetechnologies such as DVD+R, DVD+-RW, and DVD-RAM.
