Expanding Our Learning Experience
A practical way to use MinitabBy Rod ToroEdward Jones, Deployment Leader314-805-2999
The Back Story….
We were just beginning year 2…….
What are we solving for?
…continue the progress and begin this LIP approach!
Go beyond "tool competency"
Understand the underlying principles of this discipline
Personalize learning to gain deeper insights
Increase ability to communicate LSS techniques
Change behaviors that are hindering growth (KBI)
Expand your ability to apply techniques in a variety of circumstances and situations
Increase thinking "outside the box" or even "off the page"
Personal Improvement

Business Case
Overall quality of life is related to a multitude of factors. Good
health is critical for ensuring that long term life experiences can
be achieved and enjoyed. A deterioration in health over time
may be inevitable but some aspects can be avoided. If possible,
Problem Statement
Increase weight is one key indicator to overall health. Therefore, the lack of ability to lose weight and keep off the weight is of paramount importance.
Goal Statement
By the end of ninety (90) days lose at least 10% of current body weight. In addition, a maintenance system to ensure that this situation will not be repeated.
(Could be measured by overall weight, BMI, size of wardrobe)
Scope
In Scope:
Personal Health concerns, including calorie intake, level of exercise, basic sleep and relaxation techniques.
Out of Scope:
Other personal issues that may be related to weight gain but are not directly controlled by me.

LIP Project: Elk Cessation Plan
Business Case
I am participating in a hunt in September in the mountains of
Montana. Among the many things needed in preparation for this
trip is an ability to successfully climb the mountains in order to get
to where the elk/mule deer are and to be able to position myself
successfully. In order to be effective on the hunt, I must be fit
enough to get into position in a timely manner while carrying the
appropriate gear.
Problem Statement
Currently, I am out of shape and will not be able to keep up with the guide. In addition, my weight is a factor as I am too fat and will need to lose weight in order to replace that weight with gear on the hunt.
Goal Statement
My primary goal is to be able to climb 50 flights of stairs on the stair stepper at the gym at a rate of 1 stair per second before I have to stop. My secondary goal is to lose fat equivalent to 10% of my body weight.
In addition, in order to continue to be successful, I must create a control plan that is effective at keeping the secondary goal .
