DESCRIPTIONSPIDER-R is an EPC Class-1 Generation-2 (C1G2)RFID tag based on Farsens’ batteryless sensortechnology. Built in a compact PCB format, the tagincludes a ROCKY100 IC.

These RFID tags are compatible with commercialUHF RFID readers (EPC C1G2). With a 2WERP setup the battery-less resistance meter cancommunicate to over 5 meters - 16 feet.

BLOCK DIAGRAM

The ROCKY100 IC includes the RF frontend for UHF RFID power harvesting and communication, a power supplymodule to generate the required voltage levels, and an EPC C1G2/ISO18000-6C digital processor including aSPI bridge and a PWM module amongst others.

A 100nF capacitor is included in the device in order to support the current peaks during active operation. All thepins of the ROCKY100 IC are routed to the external header so that are signals from the device are accesibleeasily.

Th VIO voltage is connected to VREGL by default with a 0 Ohm resistor. It is possible to change this configurationby desoldering this resistor and connecting VIO externally throug the header.
