We welcome all and extend a special greeting to our guests; our service is enriched by your presence! Please join us in Chapin Hall for fellowship time after worship.

The Welcome Table in Chapin Hall offers information about the church and members who can answer your questions. Hearing devices and large-print bulletins are available for worship—ask an usher. Nursery care is always available downstairs in Room 4.

PENTECOST AFFIRMATION Selections from Acts 2:1-21 4th-5th Grade Class PRELUDE “I Adore You”

Liz Reed-Swale, piano CALL TO WORSHIP 2nd-3rd Grade Class

We are gathered here today as disciple of God. Let us give thanks.

For the love in our lives, forgiveness when we’ve done wrong, healing when it’s needed and hope that all things get better:

Let us again give thanks. For bringing us together as one community of God:

We give thanks this day. *HYMN “Allelu” insert Liz Reed-Swale, Guitar Accompaniment * P l e a s e r i s e i n b o d y o r i n s p i r i t . * B o l d t y p e d e n o t e s c o l l e c t i v e r e s p o n s e .

*GATHERING PRAYER AND THE LORD’S PRAYER 4th-5th Grade Class Dear God, thank you for showing us the way into this place. May you energize us as we follow you on the path of Christianity. Thank you for bringing us together and for the light and life you bring in us. Help us to love one another in your name as we pray as Jesus teaches us, saying,

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

A NOTE ABOUT CHILDREN'S WORSHIP SUNDAY Worship leadership is provided today by the children and youth of the S.P.I.R.I.T. Church School. This year as a church school, through five different bible stories, they have reflected on what it means to journey with God through the transitions and changes in our lives, and how God welcomes us in those places. The children and youth have written and selected all parts of today's worship service.

The flowers are given in loving memory of our grandparents, Wes & Ginny Reed, Mel & Ruth Zeller, and Thomas & Doris Perry

by Liz and Tom Reed-Swale.

UPDATE WITH THE SEARCH COMMITTEE

TODAY June 8, Second Hour (11:30-12:15, Chapin Hall)

Allelu

When indicated by the song leader, please rise in body or in spirit as you are able.

Allelu, allelu, allelu, alleluia; Praise ye The Lord.

Praise ye The Lord, alleluia (3X); Praise ye The Lord!

Weave, Weave

Refrain Weave, weave, weave us together. Weave us together in unity and love. Weave, weave, weave us together, Weave us together, together in love.

We are many textures, we are many colors, each one different from the other.

But we are entwined with one another in one great tapestry.

Refrain

We are diff’rent instruments playing our own melodies each one turning to a diff’rent key.

But we are all playing in harmony in one great symphony.

Refrain

Moment ago we did not know our unity, only diversity.

Now the love in me greets the love in thee in one great family.

I Adore You During the offering you are invited to join together singing in a spirit of prayer and reflection. We will sing until the offering has been collected. Please note that this song is sung as a round.

Creator, I adore you; Lay my life before you; How I love you.

Jesus, I adore you; Lay my life before you; How I love you.

Spirit, I adore you; Lay my life before you; How I love you.

Everyone is Welcome in The Circle Song will repeat with different lyrics. If you have a suggestion, when called upon, shout it out!

Everyone is welcome in the circle; Everyone is welcome in the circle; Everyone is welcome in the circle,

The circle of God's love.

SCRIP-SURE What is it? Scrip-sure is a fundraising program for our church, which allows the regular shopping we do at a variety of retailers to generate income for the church. How? Participating retailers sell gift certificates or gift cards to our church at a discount. Church members buy the certificates for full face value and redeem them for full face value, and our church keeps the difference as revenue. Everybody wins! The retailers get our business, and our church gets a regular source of revenue that involves nothing other than what we would all be doing anyway – shopping/spending at grocery stores, drugstores, restaurants, gas stations, and many other businesses, including online retailers. Orders placed last Sunday may be picked up this morning at the scrip table in Chapin Hall. We had a strong order last weekend, and through 5 weeks of the new fiscal year we've earned $1700 through the scrip program. Today we have a variety of cards in inventory from more than 35 different restaurants and retailers, available for immediate purchase this morning, including (but not limited to): Coffee: Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks Fast food: Boston Market, Burger King, Chipotle, McDonalds, Subway Gas: Exxon/Mobil, Shell, Sunoco Grocery: Big Y, Stop & Shop, Trader Joe's, Westside Marketplace, Whole Foods Pharmacy: CVS, Walgreens Restaurants: Bertucci's, Bonefish Grill, Buffalo Wild Wings, On the Border Shopping: Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Bed Bath & Beyond, Best Buy, Home Depot,

Kohl's, iTunes, Lowes, Marshall's, Shutterfly Staples, Target, Walmart See Gail Hall at the scrip table this morning for a complete listing of available cards, or to have all of your questions answered.

The Wordle Bulletin Cover was created by the children in the 6-8th grade class. They came up with ways they can tell people about Jesus' love or ways to tell others about God's love. The illustration on the back cover was done by Teagan Reed-Swale
