PRODUCT PRESENTATION

SB, PS, and RS StoneSB, PS and RS stone are made from Portland cement, fine sand, stone or granite chips, lightweight aggregates, mineral oxide color pigments and concrete chemical additives. The special lightweight and the minimum of thickness advance for quick and easy installation of the products.

FX, FC, PL and PF Flexible StoneFX, FC, PL and PF Flexible tone are based on the specially flexible synthetic resin, blended with selected stone chips and granite chips, mineral oxide color pigments and the various chemical additives, cast and cure in mold to simulate a variety of natural sandstone forms. The special flexible characteristic provides for unlimited and freedom of design to any surfaces where stone texture is desired.

RECOMMENDED USES

RockTex®

Stone is used for interior and

exterior nonstructural veneer and trim on masonry, metal or frame construction where decorative art and aesthetic appearances of stone are required. The individual piece of stone are using premixed mortar (exterior) or adhesive (interior) applied on concrete, masonry and brick walls, wood and gypsum board or steel stud walls and metal buildings.

SB, SL, FC , PS, PF and RS Stonecan be used for both interior and exterior applications. It is easily installed directly to the surface of any clean, untreated brick, concrete, or other masonry. Each piece of stone is applied individually with premixed mortar and attaches to the wall surface. On other surfaces, such as wood, wallboard or metal etc., metal lath may be applied first. On some interior projects, the use of masonry adhesive (Ad-05 bonding agent) offers a fast and easy alternative to mortar.

FX and PL Flexible Sandstone are mainly used for interior applications. It can be installed on any structurally sound wall surface, by using Ad-05 bonding agent.

INSTALLATION PROCESS

RockTex Sandstone veneer used for interior applications can be applied directly to

any clean, untreated:

- Masonry substrate

- Cement based substrate

- Plaster based substrate

- Brickwork substrate

- Gypsum board and wood frame substrate

- Fiber glass, hard plastic and glass substrate

with premixed cement mortar or RockTex Bonding Agent Ad-05.

BEFORE INSTALL ROCKTEX SANDSTONE

A. To Masonry:

RockTex Sandstone veneer can be applied directly to any clean, untreated masonry

surfaces. Painted or sealed masonry must be cleaned by paint remove solvent, surface

grinded, sand blasting, or covered with metal lath before stone veneer can be installed.

B. To Wood Frame Construction:

Any existing wall surface of wood or wood-type products that provides a firm base for

stone veneer can be applied directly with RockTex Bonding Agent Ad-05 on interior

applications. For exterior applications use the diamond wire mesh backed with a

weather-resistant barrier before stone veneer can be installed.

C. To Metal Studs:

RockTex Sandstone veneer can be applied to metal studs. Diamond type metal lath

backed with a weather resistant barrier is then secured to the studs with self- tapping

metal screws. Stone veneer then can be installed using scratch coat method as below.

D. Apply Scratch Coat:

Using Premixed Type N mortar or mixing mortar from the table, add water and blend to

a creamy, paste-like mixture. Using trowel apply a thin layer of this mortar to completely

cover the lath. After drying (24 to 48 Hours) this will provide a rigid backing and assure

firm bonding of the stone veneer.

APPLYING ROCKTEX SANDSTONE:

Using trowel apply mortar 1 cm to 2 cm thick to prepared surface area. Apply mortar

and stone working from the bottom up, if an outside corner is involved in the job, the

corner side should be installed first, then work away from the corner.

RockTex Sandstone generally install with tight-fitted (mortarless) joints, the stones

should be placed butting each other and aligned for level and plumb. To set the stones,

apply the mortar 1 cm thick to its back. Press the stone firmly against the wall and

wiggle it from side to side to ensure a good bond. Check for level and plumb. Using a

trowel, strike off the excess mortar around the edges of the stone prior to placing the

next piece. This will allow the next adjacent piece to fit tightly. Using a clean, wet

sponge wipe any excess mortar from face of the stone.

INSTALLATION PROCESS

3. Press veneer firmly to the substrate. The corner side should be installed first.

Bonding Agent Ad-05

DESCRIPTION

RockTex Sandstone Bonding Agent Ad-05 is a water base high performance and

highly flexible paste adhesive, based on acrylic emulsion blend with mineral filler and

specific additives. designed for fixing RockTex Sandstone to any structurally sound

wall surface.

APPLICATION RANGE

RockTex Sandstone Bonding Agent Ad-05 can be used to install on various

substrate such as:

- Masonry substrate

- Cement based substrate

- Plaster based substrate

- Brickwork substrate

- Gypsum board and plywood substrate

- Fiber glass, hard plastic and glass substrate

INSTRUCTION

- The surface must be clean, sound, and free of dust, grease, oil and crumbly material.

for Masonry wall, a primer should be applied before stone veneer can be installed.

- Apply Ad-05 to the prepared surface using a trowel and then level out using a

notched trowel appropriate to the size of the RockTex Sandstone.

- Firmly press the RockTex Sandstone into the adhesive to ensure good adhesion.

- When the installation surface area is narrow, it is also suitable for apply Ad-05 on to

the back side of the RockTex Sandstone.

- Remove any excess of Ad-05 from RockTex Sandstone surface using a sponge.

Joint Filler

DESCRIPTION

RockTex Sandstone Joint Filler is a composition of white cement, synthetic resin, selected

sand, additives and mineral pigments, designed for colored grout RockTex Sandstone joints on

interior and exterior wall.

APPLICATION RANGE

RockTex Sandstone Joint Filler can be used to

- Colored grout for joints up to 6mm wide on interior and exterior walls.

- Repair the Rocktex Sandstone surface.

INSTRUCTION

- Mix the Joint Filler with 5% water.

- Start by protecting RockTex Sandstone with marking tape before the spreading of the grout.

- Completely fill the joints using a rubber grouting trowel or an appropriate tool.

- Wait that Joint Filler has started to set (45 to 60 min.).

- Remove excess grout using a sponge.

Sealer 3000

DESCRIPTION

Sealer 3000 is an aqueous silane-based system intended to render porous mineral substrates

hydro-and oleophobic, making them easy to clean. It is practically free from volatile organic

components (VOC). Facades treated with Sealer 3000 remain clean longer, show no unsightly

dark water streaks and are less susceptible to the growth of microorganisms such as mold and

algae. Stains caused by common liquids Coffee, cola and oils, dark liquids that are easily

absorbed by untreated surfaces leaving permanent stains, are easily removed from surfaces

treated with Sealer 3000. Even chewing gum and posters don’t stick quite so well, facilitating

their removal.

APPLICATION RANGE

Sealer 3000 can be used to create and easy-clean surface on many porous, mineral-based

building materials. Some examples include:

• Sand limestone masonry

• Sandstone masonry

• Brick masonry

• concrete

• mineral-based stucco

• polished surfaces such as marble and granite

The concentration of Sealer 3000 and the application method both depend on the porosity and

absorbency of the building material to be treated.

APPLICATION INFORMATION The facade to be treated must be clean surface-dry. Dirt, grime, efflorescence, algae and moss must be removed. Water absorbed during cleaning must be allowed to dry so that the surface is dry before application begins. Imperfections such as cracks, cracked joints or defective seams must be repaired using appropriate methods. Mortar used for repairs must be fully cured and surface dry. Do not apply the product in rain or strong winds.

Due to the water content, the treatment solution is susceptible to freezing and must not be used at temperatures under 0°C.

The recommended application method is with HVLP (High Volume Low Pressure) equipment. Product application using airless sprayers (low pressure, so-called “flooding” method) is also possible if the substrate is sufficiently absorbent. The ready-to-use solution (a dilution of 1 part Sealer 3000 Concentrate to 2 to 14 parts water) is best applied starting from the bottom and going up the wall. This avoids pretreating the substrate with runoff from above. Avoid using dirty application equipment, which can contaminate the product.

The easy-to-clean effect may be in many cases (especially on very coarse and very porous substrates) be enhanced by additional treatments. The amount of product required for the second and all subsequent treatments is considerably less. Additional treatments should be done using HVLP technology; the resulting droplets must be rubbed in quickly using a brush or swab to distribute the liquid evenly across the surface.

In most cases the hydro- and oleophobic effect forms within just a few minutes (especially in warm, dry weather). Some substrates, such as limestone, are less reactive. In such cases the efficacy may take some days to develop fully. The application should be continuous and uninterrupted so that no overlapping occurs. The aqueous solution of Sealer 3000 Concentrate cannot penetrate a previously treated section. The resulting droplets can cause mottling if not rubbed in with a brush.

Less absorbent substrates should not be treated with highly dilute solutions of Sealer 3000Concentrate. We recommend treating smooth stone surfaces by polishing with undiluted Sealer 3000 Concentrate.

Adjoining areas such as windows, glass, painted surfaces, surfaces to be painted, plants and landscaping should be protected with plastic from overspray. In case of accidental contamination the resulting film can be removed with standard cleaners, silicone removers, mineral spirits or solvents if applied immediately before it hardens.

Sealer 3000 Concentrate reacts with the interface of the mineral substrate’s pores and capillaries to form invisible, hydrophobic interface-compounds. Since previous building material treatments may not be known, a Sealer 3000 test patch is recommended to avoid any undesired side effects.

STORAGEUnopened containers of Sealer 3000 Concentrate have a shelf life of at least 12 months. The product should be stored at temperatures between 0 °C and 40 °C.
