Introduction This document details the installation specification of the Rocket Locker and associated 4-in-1 antenna. The goal of the Rocket Locker is to simplify the installation process and prevent tampering with the Rocket and associated peripherals by placing the equipment within a compact, self-contained enclosure. The Rocket Locker cover and Rocket locking mechanism is secured with the standard deployment Master key. Vehicle installation is a matter of mounting the Rocket Locker, installing the 4-in-1 antenna, and wiring the Locker to vehicle power (Positive, Ground, and Ignition). All cables and wiring are secured with internal strain reliefs in order to prevent power and antenna connections from being pulled loose. Items installed within the Rocket Locker are: 1. Rocket 2. Power Timer 3. Wi-Fi Rubber Duck Antenna (optional) 4. Cellular Booster (optional) 5. Ethernet Switch (optional) 6. Power Out for Mobile Computing Device (optional)

“Add A Circuit” for Ignition Sense

Utility recommends the following be used for installations:Measure all voltages with a Digital Multi-meter before connecting.Use only factory power and ground breakouts or directly wire to battery terminals.Power, ground, and ignition sense be fused as close to the source as possible.DO NOT use existing “Charge Guard” or other power protection circuitry when installing; Rocket Locker has an integrated power timer that can be set from 15 minutes to 8 hours and has automatic low battery voltage shutdown.Use weatherproof mini blade inline fuse holders – 5A mini blade fuse.Use weatherproof butt splices and ring terminals.Use weatherproof heat shrink for any non butt spliced, soldered connections.“Add A Circuit” can be used to tap into an existing ignition 12V source in a fuse panel.Cut the silver ground wire down as short as possible, this wire is not needed.

Mounting The Rocket Locker should be along the back wall of the truck or in overhead bins. The Rocket Locker was designed to house the necessary components of the Rocket Solution in one compact enclosure. The dimensions of the enclosure are 13”x 10” x 3.75” With the Locker cover removed, the enclosure is open on two sides to allow for the adjustment and configuration of the internal hardware in limited space installations.

Rocket Locker Bracket The Rocket Locker Bracket (spec below) should be mounted to the vehicle using ¼ in diameter steel bolts. ¼ - 20 flat-head hex bolts will be used to mount the Locker to the mounting bracket.

Note: Self-tapping screws should NOT be used for mounting the bracket. The bracket should be firmly fastened to the vehicle with nut and bolt fasteners. Rivnut or other similar blind fasteners are suggested. Sample shown below.

4-in-1 Antenna Installation The antenna is mounted through a single hole on the roof. From the underside, a slotted nut holds the antenna in place. The slot allows the cables to be installed and then later the nut can be put into place and secured without having to thread each cable through the nut. The hole drilled should be ¾ inches, and created using an antenna hole saw to ensure proper grounding. ¼ wavelength stainless steel ground plane will be provided for vehicles with fiberglass roofs.

Note: Antenna must be mounted on metal surface with paint removed at antenna contact points.

Connecting To Power Fully configured, the Rocket Locker is delivered with the Rocket, Cellular Booster, and Power Timer already embedded, with internal wiring pre-connected. The Rocket Locker has one, 4 conductor cable for connecting the device to power. The conductors are color coded as follows: • Red Wire: to positive terminal on battery or breakout box • White Wire: to ignition circuit • Black Wire: to battery for ground

Note: Grounding equipment to the body of the truck utilizing a ring terminal and self-tapping screw is not an approved method. This can lead to ground loops and inefficient grounding of the equipment. Ground equipment at the battery or other approved grounding locations within the vehicle.
