On one fine morning Simon was on his way to school on his bright yellow bike.

He loved his bike so much he didn’t want to get it full of mud every time he went to school so that’s why he was always in trouble with his teacher and the principal.

What should Simon do before he rides his bike?

Can you find the answers in the picture?

Helmet fits properly, check for cracks, use the two finger rule,

Check seat is not too low or too high, it faces the right way and it is not loose

Handlebars are tight and do not move.

Check tyres are pumped up, no broken spokes and are not loose.

Check front and back brakes are working.

Chain is oiled and not loose.

The principal thought Simon’s bike problem of keeping it clean was just silly. So he decided to call Simon’s parents to sort out this issue. So Simon’s principal called his parents but they said “You will have to sort it out because it’s Simon who you have to deal with”. So the principal called Simon to his office to talk to him.

But when Simon sat down to talk his principal Simon said “My bike is so important to me I don’t want it to get it full of mud”. But when Simon’s principal heard this he got a bit of a surprise.

So now Simon’s principal knew what the problem was he decided to organise a bike tournament to see if Simon can actually take the right path to the finish line. So when it came to the time of the bike tournament Simon was waiting at the start line for the start gun to go off. And all of a sudden it did and Simon raced down to the first hill and took the right path down to the forest.

But a few minutes later Simon came to the forest and took the wrong path by mistake but he always knew how to get out of the forest because the path that he took was actually the same path he took to school.

So now Simon was out of the forest he was surprisingly in front of everybody because the path that Simon took was a very quick way to take when people didn’t know about it.

What are some of the road signs should Simon know in order to ride safely?

But all of a sudden Jamie (Simon’s best friend) popped out of nowhere on his bike. Simon was confused because Jamie didn’t really like to ride but any way Simon carried on riding with Jamie to the finish line.

What hand signals does Simon need to know to ride safely?

And when Simon and Jamie reached the finish line they raced to see who came first just for fun.

So when Simon and Jamie crossed the finish line all the villages cheered for the two boys who had just finish the bike tournament.
