OBOR: What does it mean to HKIA?

Increase Demand in Handling Capacity for both Passenger and

CargoTraveller Diversity

and More Challenging to upkeep passenger

experience

IncreaseHandling Capacity

Through infrastructure expansion

Presenter
Presentation Notes
In the years to come, we must continue to enhance our capabilities to meet future demand and capture development opportunities. The very first thing we have to do is to increase our handling capacity Many airports around the world have to pay the airlines to fly. Our case is the opposite – we have more requests for new air routes than our existing two-runway system can accommodate It is therefore imperative for the construction of the 3RS

The 3RS

Presenter
Presentation Notes
The 3RS project was kick-started in August last year As you all know, it’s a large-scale infrastructure project tantamount to building a new airport When it is fully operational, HKIA is estimated to handle 100 million passengers, 9 million tonnes of cargo and 610,000 flight movements by 2030

Robotics Use Case – Interact with Human (Chatbot)

HKIA Virtual Customer Assistant (to be launched soon)

Presenter
Presentation Notes
Chatbot is planned to provide intelligent and automated customer service across different channels (social media, web, mobile). We also plan to pilot chatbots for internal staff engagement. Down the road the natural language processing capability coupled with voice recognition could be applied to internal applications as the more natural user interface to systems

Presenter
Presentation Notes
This slide illustrates the big data analytics concept and the common output of big data analytics. We plan to equip the infrastructure and systems with IoT sensors. With the huge airport infrastructure, the sensing data information will be huge and requires big data analytics technology for analysis. The sensor information can be correlated to airport operation data such as flight information, passenger flow …etc. for more operations insight. To extend this further, external data such as social media, traffics, weather, retail …etc. can also be included for deeper analysis to gain insights. The analytics insight could be displayed as executive dashboard, used to improve operations efficiency and performance. Big data also enables predictive analytics.
