Can you BEElieve that summer is already almost over? As most of you

will be going back to school in a few weeks this is the time to reflect.

Let’s take a look back together at all we have achieved over these

golden summer months. How much service have you done? How

much money have you raised ? If you still haven’t done much, there is

still plenty of time left to make an impact! You still have plenty of time

to help out your community and fundraise so don’t let go of these

GOLDEN opportunities!

I had the GOLDEN opportunity of attending Key Club’s 70th annual In-

ternational Convention this past month and it was one of the greatest

experiences of my life. From the district tour where I got to visit histori-

cal monuments like the Lincoln Memorial to the Farewell Session during

convention where the new International Board was elected, each mo-

ment was magical. And guess what? Next year you will be able to ex-

perience a similar experience because International Convention 2014

will be held in Anaheim, CA!

This month’s newsletter is made to provide you with updates on the

progress we are making as a division, upcoming events and opportuni-

ties, Robo-Points and a recap of ICON 2013! Don’t forget to check out

the challenge of the month and make sure to send me your submis-

sions for some extra points!

And in other exciting news, we will be giving you information on RTC

2013 as well as Fall Rally North. Are you ready?

Putting the nuts and bolts in service,

Prajwol Devkota

From June 29th to July 7th, the CNH Bees traveled to our nation’s

capital in BEE-utiful Washington DC. From the 4 days to District Tour to

the 4 days of Convention, it was all a wonderful experience. From

touring national monuments and visiting various museums to attend-

ing the meet and greet during convention and being at the House of

Delegates all the way to the Farewell Session and the Eliminate

Dance, it was all a great experience! But next year will be even more

MAGICAL as ICON 2014 comes to the Happiest Place on Earth to the

GOLDEN CNH District from July 2-6, 2014!

GOLDEN SPOTLIGHT

GOLD CLUB OF THE MONTH

GOLDEN ROBOT OF THE MONTH GOLDEN LEADER OF THE MONTH

This page is dedicated to the following three: club of the month, officer of the month, and member of the month who definitely went above and BEE-yond for the month of June. Thank you so much for all that you do.

Live Oak - Thank you for your con-

tinued enthusiasm and growth as

well as your continued service.

Judy Tran - “Other than the

love I have for the whole

concept of Key Club and

serving those in the commu-

nity, I mainly love the club

because of the two people

who have inspired me to go

further and become more active towards

Key Club. Because of them not only have I

become a better person but I've learned to

love Key Club even more! Thanks”

Prabhjit Kaur - “ Doing community service gives me a

chance to give back to my community and get to meet

people that I don't know. Service allows us as key

club members to give other members and nonmem-

bers chances to be more involved in the community

and tell other people unaware of community service.

Key club has taught me to help others whether it is

noticed or not. Doing service makes you feel good and

want to tell others and help as much as you can. An-

other reason I do community service is that it helps

us gain experience and raise self-esteem. Community

service not only allows us members to help others but

also makes us feel better.“

Kids Triathlon

At the triathlon a few key club members went in the

morning around 7:30am to about 11:00 to help out. At

the beginning of the event we cheered the runners on

as they ran the course and directed them where to go

at turns. Some members told oncoming traffic where

to drive as some of the runners were still running the

course. Towards the end of the event we waited for the

runners to complete the course and finish the race so

members could help clear up the course. As the race

concluded we helped pick up the cones and some other

materials they needed assistance with. This was a

short yet enjoyable event in which we motivated the

kids and helped as much as we could.

Summer Stroll

On Saturday, June 22, the Summer Stroll took

place in downtown Yuba City. We had the pleas-

ure and opportunity to work with our local Ki-

wanis that day. Two of the schools in our divi-

sion, River Valley and Yuba City, worked to-

gether to serve and prepare fish and chips for the

public. It was a great day as we all had the honor

to bond with Kiwanis, having a great time doing

service, and also having the time to enjoy the

stroll.

Allyn Scott Youth Center

During the summer, the Key Clubbers were given the opportunity to

volunteer at Allyn Scott Youth and Community Center (ASYCC). The

objective was to help out Martha, the person on charge of ASYCC, and

the fellow employees with all of the children that were to come to

ASYCC during the summer. The Key Clubbers helped out by being in

charge of certain activities such as Cooking, Games, or Crafts. Ms. Mar-

tha was very glad that so many Key Clubbers came to volunteer and

welcomed them with a smile whenever she saw them. The Key Clubbers

that came were from Marysville and River Valley and were more than

happy to take time from their summer to help out. The children at

ASYCC were very energetic and moving most of the time that the Key

Clubbers were there. Some of the children reminded the Key Clubbers

of how to have fun and to scream and shout randomly at times. The

children made friends with some of the Key Clubbers by hanging out

with them during breaks and the activities that some of the Key Club-

bers were in charge of. The children enjoyed the company of the volun-

teers and said it repeatedly throughout the day. Memories were made

by both the Key Clubbers and the people at ASYCC.
