3 lives saved from MNT by each member. It only takes $1.80 to save 1 life, so skip out on that frappuccino, and help save at least 3 lives which would only cost $5.40.

50 hours of service by each member. This is the limited amount needed to be a key clubber in good-standing! We want all of you to get this amount!

50% Division-wide membership growth. From 2011-2012 to 2012-2013, we have lost over 100 members, let’s bring them back and many more!

$2000 for MNT by December. We have made a division-wide pledge to raise this amount to help the CNH District’s goal of raising $500,000 by 2015!

$2000 for PTP by October. Last year we raised $500 but that was only from one club, if all clubs participate this year, and send at least $250 each we could reach this goal!

Spirit Stick at Fall Rally North. Every year, we make it to the top three; even though we’re not as large in number, and every year, we are disqualified, this year, let’s take home that spirit stick!

Distinguished/Outstanding Members/Officers All of the leaders are golden, and we want proper recognition for all of you!

High attendance at DCON 2014 Usually held in Southern California, trip costs can get high, but this year, it’s only 40 min-utes away in the capital city of Sacramento! Let’s get all the blue robots here that we can and celebrate our golden year of service together with the rest of our CNH ohana!

Attendance at ICON 2014 Let’s show Key Club International how blue robots party! We would love to have repre-sentation at International Convention 2014 which is in Anaheim, CA – the closest it’s ever been!

Over 10,900 hours of service division-wide. When each member does their 50 mandatory hours, we can reach this goal!

RELAY FOR LIFE by Novpreet Shoker from Yuba City High

To start off our summer events, Key Club participated in the Relay for Life, which took place at the Geweke Field on July 15th and 16th, as it was a 24 hour event. On the 15th, seven members of the YCHS Key Club arrived at 8 a.m. and began to organize and arrange everything in our Kiwanis Tent. We began by setting out the raffle prizes and labeling them. Then, as the event started, we sold tickets for the raffle and participated in the relay ourselves. Simultaneously, some members helped carry supplies from the parking lot to our tent whenever needed. As the day carried on into noon, the members were assigned to various jobs. Some members began to make lemonade, and others were told to serve lunch, which consisted of hotlinks and hotdogs. Eventually the day slowed down, and help was no longer necessary. Key Club members then left at 3 p.m.

PAINTING TENNIS COURTS by Julissa Gomez from Marysville

As our first June service project, Marysville High School decided to give the school a refreshing look. A while back ago, our club decided to paint the tennis courts at our school, more specifi-cally, we decided to paint the “Green Monster,” the wall that tennis athletes play against when they want to practice on their own. Thanks to heavy advertisement through Facebook, our school publicity board, and club meetings, we had a pretty good turn-out for our small club. Even though it was scorching hot, we were able to accomplish quite a bit with 13 people in the roughly 2 hours that we were there after-school. It was very or-ganized because Mr. Allen, our advisor, had created a plan to follow: there would be groups of four painters to be able to have the most efficiency. There were times when people had to be reminded to stay busy, but all in all, it went pretty smoothly. We were only able to finish about a third of the wall, so we have planned another date, during the day, when it’s not as hot, to finish. Hopefully, we have a great turnout, with lots of people, many supplies, tons of water, and food. We hope that we’ll be able to have potential members come as well and show them, and the school, how FUN and REWARDING Key Club can be.

RELAY FOR LIFE CLEAN UP by Novpreet Shoker from Yuba City High

The next morning, on the 16th, ten members returned

around 5 a.m. to help with clean-up. For about an

hour, all the members decided to walk. Later, around

7 a.m., we began to clean up by taking all the supplies

back to the parking lots and taking down the tents.

The club finished by 8 a.m. and overall, the event

turned out to be a good success.

RELAY FOR LIFE BREAKFAST by Quinta Pedraza from River Valley High

My experience for serving breakfast for the Relay for Life walk-ers was excellent! I got to hand out butter and syrup to the people eating pancakes and sausages prepared by the Early Ris-ers Kiwanians, who were a distinguished Kiwanis Club! The walkers also had a choice of juice, milk, or coffee. They were polite, and energetic people at 7:30 in the morning despite the fact that they’ve been relaying for 24 hours! I enjoyed meeting the new faces and I would definitely volunteer again.
