ROBERT E. JOHNSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND ROBERT E. JOHNSON 12/31/1944 - 12/24/2002 The Robert E. Johnson Memorial Scholarship Fund was established by Citizens Bank & Trust Company as a lasting legacy to our friend and colleague, Bob Johnson, who passed away on December 24, 2002. Bob, as an individual and as Senior Vice President of Citizens Bank, demonstrated a unique and highly regarded combination of ethics and leadership abilities. For his co-workers, Bob was a daily role model of core values: patience, integrity, empathy, respect, diligence, and hard work. His untimely death saddended not only his family and his bank colleagues, but an entire community. Citizens Bank & Trust Company endowed this fund with the wish that while serving as an ongoing tribute to Bob Johnson, it will assist area students in the pursuit of their academic goals. AWARD AMOUNT: A minimum scholarship of $500.00 will be awarded annually from the earnings of the endowed investment. QUALIFICATIONS: Applications for the scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors who have been accepted to a two or four year college or university. In addition to the scholarship application form and a letter of acceptance, applicants are to submit an essay on The Importance of Personal Character in A Leadership Role. APPLICATION DEADLINE: Scholarship applications should be submitted by Friday, April 13, 2018 to: Citizens Bank & Trust Company; Attn: Lindsey Page; 126 S Main St, Blackstone, VA 23824. GRANTING OF AWARD: A 3-member selection committee will review the applications and essays and will grant the award by Friday, May 4, 2018.
