Robert George Beyer was born on May is, 1942 in Wheaton to George and Lydia (Raguse) Beyer. He was baptized on June 21, 1942 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Taylor Township and was also confirmed there on April 3, 1955. Bob attended District 44 Elementary school in Taylor Township (which he recently helped restore) and graduated from Tintah High School. On December 3, 1967 Bob was married to Darlene (Toepke) at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bloomington, Illinois. The couple made their home in Taylor Township, residing in several locations near family farm sites. In recent years they also enjoyed spending time together at their second house on South Turtle Lake. When St. Paul's Church closed in 1975, Bob and Darlene joined the sister congregation at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Bob was dedicated to farming his entire life. He started farming with his father George at an early age and continued in farm activities until his last year. His favorite time away from his family was in the combine', and he assisted son Rodd with harvests even through retirement. Bob had many related talents and interests including acting as a licensed commodities broker with business in Fergus Falls and later in Wheaton. He was an original shareholder in MinnDak Coop Sugar Factory, and farming beets was an important part of his life. Bob spent much time serving others in his life. Bob was proudly serving in the National Guard when he met Darlene in Minot, North Dakota. Bob served as an elder and then as congregational chairman for many years at Immanuel Lutheran Church. He served for eighteen years on the Traverse County Coop Board. He also served on the Traverse County Farm Bureau Board where he also was a salesman for Trojan Corn and Safemark Tires and Oil. Bob was an avid fisherman, enjoying his time with friends and family on many fishing trips and days on South Turtle with his grandchildren in retirement. He also expressed his creativity and artistic nature through woodworking and was able to share his creations with many. Always intrigued with airplanes and flight, Bob built and flew RC planes with friends for many years as part ofthe Black Sheep RC Club in Wheaton. He thoroughly enjoyed playing cards with family and friends throughout his life, and he especially loved playing with his grandchildren. Robert George Beyer was born on May is, 1942 in Wheaton to George and
