Police responded on Wednesday to reports of shots fired at a residence in Isanti County, according to a release from the Chisago County sheriff's office. Authorities said 41-year-old Robert Allen Peterson was in a pole barn on the property. After three-and-a-half hours of negotiations, Peterson emerged from the building waving a hand gun at officers and pointing the gun at his head. Authorities ordered Peterson to put the weapon down and shot him after he pointed the gun at a Chisago County sheriff's deputy. Peterson was pronounced dead at Fairview Lakes Wyoming Hospital. A Chisago County sheriff's deputy shot a Stacy man to death after he pointed a gun at authorities and threatened toshoot them.

Police responded on Wednesday to reports of shots fired at a residence in Isanti County, according to a release fromthe Chisago County sheriff's office.

Authorities said 41-year-old Robert Allen Peterson was in a pole barn on the property. After three-and-a-halfhours of negotiations, Peterson emerged from the building waving a hand gun at officers and pointing the gun at hishead.
