    I've just started running Carrion Crown's first module, The Haunting of Harrowstone , and am liking

    everything so far about Ravengro. Because of the issues with the Trust mechanic, I'm incororating a

    few minor changes into the arts of the module before the e!loration of "arrowstone. I like the

    active role that the #latter$an and the %ier of Illmarsh take in rojecting themselves on Ravengro,

    and like the idea of a rogressively stronger resence of siritual disturbance. The only roblem is,

    other than those two, no one else takes a really active role in the frightening of the town &and for the

    ier, this only haens once. #ince I have five layers, I like the idea of airing off a different

    risoner with a different layer, making the fights against them a little more ersonal. To foreshadow

    the five risoners, I lan on having minor hauntings occur around town. To give a mechanic toallowing a haunt to not be tied to a lace &or at least roam from its origin(

    Roaming Haunt:) roaming haunt is a manifestation of an un*uiet sirit that ossesses enough force of will to rojectitself beyond the sight of its demise. Roaming haunts can never be ersistent. ) roaming haunttyically manifests when a triggering activity associated with the sirit's demise occurs within a certainrange of where the sirit erished, usually the haunt's CR ! +, ft. Certain owerful haunts canincrease this range u to a mile er CR rating. &-ike the hisering Tyrant

    + $idnight Bells0 hile not a haunt that actively targets anyone or cause any immediate harm, thisfirst manifestation is nonetheless disturbing to the eace of the town, and causes + loss of trustanytime it occurs until ermenantly stoed. Anlike the other roaming haunts, this one is more sightsecific.

    Haunted .e!!s)t midnight, the bells in the church of %harasma are wrung erratically, waking its

    citi4ens and disturbing the eace. Aon investigation, there aears to be nothing resent e!cet for

    one thing0 an unrecogni4able, melted holy symbol left near the bells. This occurs again every +d=75days, with a different melted holy symbol being left. If someone decides to wait at the bells until

    midnight, they can attemt to sto the haunt from occuring by noticing it and stoing it before it

    manifests. "owever, anyone in the Belltower that fails to notice the haunt or beat it on initiative must

    make a 2C + ;ortitude save for = rounds or be deafened for + day from the loudness of the bells. The

    melted holy symbol seems to fly into the belltower on the wind.

    haunt or follows anyone carrying the melted holy symbol from the eariler haunt.

    "riggerCasting any divine sell with a verbal comonent. Before the sell can be cast, the haunt

    begins to manifest

    needed to cast most divine sells. The ne!t divine sell cast with verbal comonents gains a 5 sell

    failure chance due to the ghostly voices. ;urthermore, that character's "oly #ymbol is targeted with

    a Breaksell &ill 2C ++ negates.

    "rigger#leeing after gaining the attention of ;ather Charlatan. This usually occurs directly before

    the Bells at $idnight haunt.

    that aren't in the same voice as the %C's.

    $%%ectThe target dreams of walking the ruined halls of "arrowstone and encountering the walking,

    shambling remains of its risoners. )s the %C instinctively grass for a holy symbol around their neck

    &whether they can channel or not, they find that the chain holding it is in fact wraed around their

    entire body in eculiar ways, tightening ainfully as they go to gras it. )s the %C goes to let go of the

    imossibly long chain wraed around them, it begins to tighten of its own accord. hostly laughter

    erruts as the chains ainfully constrict around the %C's body, dragging him down before the

    advancing, walking dead. )t this oint, have the %C make a 2C +3 ill save. ) %C that fails wakens to

    find the strange imrint marks of chains all over their body. The target is affected as if by

    a Festersell, lasting for + day, at which oint the imrints fade.

    of clothing, behind a drae, etc. "e leers and rushes them, handa!e raised, vanishing just before he

    5 Chosen %rey0 )s The -oer's haunt ersists against his chosen target, the murderer's sirit e!erts

    more willower over his ability to affect the hysical world, causing one of his %hantom #talker "aunts

    to take on a more lethal tone.

    =%hantom Diller0 This occurs only if the %Cs have destroyed any of the other five risoners and

    returned from "arrowstone without destroying the -oer. The -oer reali4es the direct threat they

    reresent to him and uses all of his illower to create a violent manifestation against his chosen

    victim.

    remains and begins attacking of its own accord. Treat this effect as the sell #)iritua& (ea)on&73

    killed by this effect, the wound manifests as if the %C were decaitated. This effect ersists for 3

    rounds then fades.

    I like the Bloody -etters event and the otional /ision of Imrisonment events as manifestations of the#latter $an's growing ower. To make it more ersonal, I'm gonna add one other haunt, robably

    does, he sees the names of his comanions slattered in blood across the walls. )s he comes to anintersection, he sees his name slattered on the floor, with the blood trailing from where he'sstanding. -ooking down, he sees a huge gash across his belly and hears ghostly laughter erut. )sthis dream occurs, the target begins taking + oint of bleed &from seemigly the same wounds as in thedream and must make a 2C ++ ill save to wake u. #haking the %C or doing any other form ofdamage while this occurs grants a 73 save bonus, and any form of healing magic cast on the %C willimmediately end the haunt, as will *rotection from Evi&.
