ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Elizabeth Akamatsu, born in Yokosuka, Japan and raised in Southern California, works primarily in bronze combined with materials such as steel, wood, and found objects. Michael Francis, a graduate of the University of North Texas, went on to receive his MFA in painting from the Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Since returning to Texas, Francis has participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions including shows at The Dallas Contemporary and 500X, where he is a current member. When painting, Michael Francis strives to achieve the the type of sentimentality that exists in old photos, faded tapestries, and worn out prints.

In addition to three featured artists, the opening exhibition will include work by several accomplished artists including Sibylle Bauer, Michael Benson, Daniel Birdsong, Val Curry, Anne-Valerie Dupond, Hugo Garcia-Urrutia & MK Semos, Linda Guy, Terry Hays, Michael Kury, Jesse Meraz, Vanessa Neil, Mark S.
