Licence Renewal
Delcam may, from time to time, issue you with a new RMS licence, for example if you request the
option to evaluate a new software product.
Setting for RMS license file
• Open the *.rms file in NOTEPAD, as you will need to adjust the file to contain your
server name (the computer where the dongle will reside)
• This is shown below as changing the default of ‘flexserver’ to the server name of ‘isupport’. This information can be found by going to the Control Panel and opening up System Properties.
• Note: 'isupport' is server name used here at Delcam. You will need to use the name
of your server.
• Once updated, the file will need to be saved into C:\dcam\config\pass as dcam.rms
Simply add the existing licence on top of your existing licence using the licence manager tool
(WlmAdmin). Right click on your server and follow the menu options "Add Feature -> From a
File -> To Server and its File"
There should be no problem in doing this. Technically the “DELCAM-SERVER” line will be updated
for the new options and invalidate all the existing (old) options within the copy of the licence
(lservrc) within the installation directory.
However, this will leave copies of the old options within the file. This can make using the
WlmAdmin tool difficult if, for example, you want to find out who is using particular licence
features – because there may be duplicate licence features within the file with a different
maintenance date.
A cleaner method of updating your server licence file, often not possible on a large network, is as
follows...
Use the licence manager tool (WlmAdmin), right click on the server and use "Remove all
Features".

This is only possible when the features (licences) are not in use on any client.

*** If 64bit server then the above file will be in the following location
C:\Program Files(x86)\Delcam\Flex4004\sys\exec\lservrc ***
*** If 32bit server then the above file will be in the following location
C:\Program Files\Delcam\Flex4004\sys\exec\lservrc ***
