d Idaho and sits at the western edge o the
eater Rocky Mountains.Utah has 11,000
les o shing streams and 147,000 acres o
kes and reservoirs.Rivers fow in abundancem the 500 inches o the Greatest Snow on
Earth collected during the winter months.Little
Cottonwood Creek fows rom high in the Wasatch
Mountains past our doorstep at Snowbird and
down to the Salt Lake Valley.Great Salt Lake is the
largest natural lake west o the Mississippi River.
It is approximately 75 miles long and about 35
miles wide.Measurements o the lake ta ken over
the years since 1849 refect variations by as much
as 20 eet,shiting the shoreline in some placesas much as 15 miles.Great Salt Lake is salty
because it does not have an outlet. In addition,
tributary rivers constantly bring in small
amounts o salt which is let behind as t he resh
water evaporates.Salt Lake City and surrounding
valley and Wasatch Mountains oer tremendous
eld trip opportunities,which we hope youll take
advantage o on both Friday and Monday!
