Parents Night Out - Make your reservations Parents on September 10 you can bring your children to the church for Parent's Night Out. The event will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the backroom. In order for your child to participate you will need to fill out the registration form located on our website. Please note this is for the first 30 children and there is a $10 fee per family. You MUST be registered have the money turned in before September 8 to guarantee your spot. Sunday Morning for Kids Kids' Connection (9:45 a.m.) Children's Worship for K-5th grade. We begin with worship in the Sanctuary then transition after the Children's Message to the backroom. Adventure Zone (11:00 a.m.) Rotation based classes for ages 3 (since last Sept 1) through 5th grade. We meet in room 127 then break into groups for Bible study, craft, and games. SJA Come on over to the patio at El Arroyo on Monday night, August 15th. The SJA praise band, under the alias of Side Project, will play all kinds of well-known tunes ranging from rock n' roll to country to pop. 10% of the restaurant's profits and 100% of the band's tip jar will fund Kids Against Hunger at SJA. The band will play from 7:00 - 10:00 pm, and there are invitation cards for you to share with friends on the counter under the lobby TV. Come join your church family for great food, fellowship, and music while supporting a great ministry at SJA! A Spiritual Gifts and Graces inventory is available for our church community during the month of August . This assessment tool can be taken on paper, on-line or with a remote device. It is a private, self-scored inventory of talent and giftedness. We invite you to participate in the inventory and share any area of desire and strength with you pastor or lay leader for consideration in the planning of 2017 leadership. Pastor Marcs Book Study Pastor Marc study started last Wednesday but its not too late to join! Minister of Youth and Families Thank you Amanda and Kelli! We owe you a debt of gratitude. For those that may not know, Amanda and Kelli are taking a breather. They stepped in when we needed them most, and now they would like to move the youth program forward with a full time director. They are leaving the program in a good place. The Minister of Youth and Families works in a professional office setting, is a good communicator (oral and written), and reports directly to the Sr. Pastor while providing support to various committees. The role of the Minister of Youth and Families falls into three broad categories: (1) Leadership of youth and family ministries, (2) supervising Discipleship Pathway activities, and (3) providing pastoral assistance as requested. Knowledge of Methodist doctrine/ theology and youth ministry is requisite. This is a full-time professional exempt position budgeted at 50 hours per week, some evenings and weekends, and subject to a 90 day probationary period. The salary range is between $42,000 and $48,000 per year based on experience. Essential functions include sitting, standing, bending, walking, running, and lifting up to 30 lbs.
