“Online” around the clock with maximum efficiency! Nowadays, there is a lot of discussion about the necessary optimisation of costs and business process-es. Apart from the increase of efficiency in production and sales, optimisation is particularly focused on IT structures. Nowadays, information technology is an essential differentiation feature in global competition. Anyone who is not yet “online” around the clock is simply not participating in globalisation and instead gambles away such important competitive advantages on the local market too.

High-availability data centres are becoming increasingly important for critical business IT systems. In the age of globalisation, a 24 hour presence on the internet, of data and e-mails is an absolute must for many companies. The question, how long a company “wants to afford” failure of their IT structures can only be answered by the individual themselves, but the experts of Rittal, Lampertz and LITCOS know how a company can make its systems highly available.

Comprehensive IT security – individually tailored! If we consider IT security from a holistic angle, it quickly becomes obvious that it extends far beyond purely logical and technical security. Apart from firewalls, virus protection and storage concepts, effective protection of IT structures against physical risks is immensely important. Irrespective of the protection class required – from basic protection through to high-availability with absolutely minimum failure tolerances – demand-actuated IT security is “state-of-the-art”.

This requires individual, but reliable and tested solutions, which adapt to the corporate structures - and not vice versa. Economic availability is therefore modular and flexible and for this reason can specifically deal with the indi-vidual circumstances. It is also scalable so that it grows with the business and above all it is comprehensive so that precisely the suitable protection is available if a relevant risk should actually occur.

Data Centres

Data centres made by LampertzRittal - Complete IT competence makes it possible

Lampertz provides IT security rooms with a modular structure, including all

technical infrastructure, to avoid ICT system downtimes and to optimally protect

IT equipment - from basic protection through to high-availability protection.

All security solutions can be flexibly adapted to the structural requirements.

Secure – modular – scalable.

System test

Forget simple component tests - only system tested room constructions make your data centre secure! 1

1 System-tested products are tested as a complete design or construction. This includes both the room units and their installation modules such as doors, cable ducting or ventilation slides. Com-ponent tests on the other hand relate to individual parts only.

2 The conventional construction method denotes room constructions made of RIGIPS (gypsum), concrete and other commonly used building materials, which are unable to provide sufficient security for data centre applications. In general, conventional construction methods are tested for use as a fire retardant wall.

Fire protection - fire test up to F180 ✓according to DIN 4102-2 (EN1363) for design of the room units and their installation modules such as doors, cable ducting and ventilation units.

Burglary protection - up to WK4 ✓according to EN 1627 / EN 1630 for the design of the room units and their installation modules

Dust protection - IP 5x ✓according to EN 605 29 for the design of the room units and their installation modules.

Water / fire-fighting water protection - IPx6 ✓according to EN 605 29 for the design of the room units and their installation modules.

What is tested?

What does “system tested” mean?

“System-tested products are tested as a complete design or construction. This includes both the room units and all their installation modules such as doors, cable duct systems or ventilation slides. Only this system test certifies the security for the room structure or design and compliance with important security standards for the IT security room as a whole.

The simple test of individual components is not very informative in business critical IT environments and is therefore ultimately not secure enough. Be-cause the component test only tests the protection class of the individual component. However, it cannot be used to provide any information whatso-ever about how the individual components together respond to threats, e.g. fire. These scenarios require a system test, in which it is precisely determined whether the overall construction of an IT security room or an IT security safe provides the required protection or not. Only the passed system test provides customers with adequate security - because it is “security at its best”!

New data centre: modern technology ensures energy efficiency

TRUMPF, with its head office in Ditzingen, is a technology firm focusing on production and medical engineering. The new data centre in the company’s central location in Ditzingen is 150 m² in total and as such is designed for the IT tasks of the next few years. 105 m² alone are used for the certified high-availability room LSR 18.6 E. The redundant and therefore failsafe design of energy distribution and air conditioning ensures functioning data delivery at all times. The computing systems for the development, production and infrastructure are operated in the data centre itself. This includes the data storage as well as applications for plan-ning, design, file services and communication. Modern Rittal racks were installed to take into account the performance, failsafe and energy efficiency requirements as well as the need for user friendliness.

Lampertz contributed to the success of the project by providing the concept, construc-tion and installation of the engineering and security room from a single source in only seven weeks.

„Energy management with future – abilis opts for Green IT in its new building“

Knowledge of the mechanical engineering and process integration industry and a com-prehensive, integrated range of services characterise the profile of abilis.

“The abilis data centre is the ideal example of a data centre suitable for a medium-sized company and with focus on applications for mechanical engineering companies who do their own research and development, production and IT – abilis is therefore a partner on an equal footing as its customers”, said Schäfer, emphasising the purpose of the new data centre. An ideal abilis customer is in the mechanical engineering industry, has approx. 100-200 employees and is planning or already uses an SAP system.

abilis provides these customers a data centre planned, built and ECB·S certified by Lampertz with an area of 60 m² and state of the art infrastructure solutions such as fire protection (at least 180 minutes), active early fire detection, Novec extinguishing system, redundant air conditioning and power supply and even a separate backup data centre of 30 m² for security reasons.

Lampertz
