When I visited the tavern known as TheRogue’s Gallery, I found a faded sign madefrom three framed paintings hanging over acurved, yet heavily reinforced iron door. As Ientered, I immediately noticed a namelessnemesis of mine that I had defeated sometime ago, back when friends of mine rescueda hostage from one villain or another, who was standing at the circular bar in the centerof the room. Quickly scanning the roundroom, I realized that every patron here waslikely a wanted criminal or some villainous bastard from my past (The rest I willconfront at some point in the future, knowingmy fortunes). I swiftly took a booth, notingthat the sound was deadened by the heavycarpeting lining the booth; I later learnedthat some tables do not allow any sound toescape the booth at all. No one would discusshow this was done, or even that it had beendone, other than to allow patrons to request a“quiet booth”. The tables and booths of TheRogue’s Gallery are made of a fine heavy oak,
both of which were bolted to the floor, and Irelaxed while taking in the smell of tobacco, stale ale, and cheap perfume.
The selection of drinks and prices werecarved into the table, running the gambit between cheap mead to exquisitely expensive wines. The house drink, called “ABackstabber,” is so strong as to be painful topartake. It affects even those immune to suchpoisons and effects, such as myself, making
them feel tipsy after consuming only onedrink. Consider yourself forewarned.
The Rogue’s Gallery is round, whichmeans there are no corner tables; however, there are the private booths that are alongthe outside wall, the Gallery. Some sized forpatrons that don’t fit within normal human
parameters, as one was over 12 feet tall and Ieven saw a 20 foot tall patrons squeeze in without disturbing the other guests. Thecircular bar covers a 10 foot radius from thecenter of the room with the booths set
another 15 feet further. The one I sat in wasroughly 15 feet long with the private boothssitting back to back, which are removable, such as when I watched the staff take one soas to allow for a patron of monstrous size tosit down.
Besides the clientele, what originally gavethe gallery its name are the paintings ofinfamous villains that can be founddecorating the wall of each booth, my boothpresented a rather despicable and ruthlesscriminal mastermind from the Far East who bore his namesake mustache. Some of thesepictures also serve as secret doors, thusallowing for a subtle entrance if the curtain toa booth is drawn or a quick escape if youdon’t want an old enemy following you when you leave, later I availed myself of thisparticular benefit. Those who gain seniorpatron membership to the Gallery aregranted keys to these doors and can reserve aspecific table for a particular night.

Venn, “the Vulture,” is the barkeep ofThe Rogue’s Gallery;he took the jobshortly after near
execution for thepoisoning of aschool that had theaudacity to reject hisapplication. He is apaunch, balding andspectacled figure with a hooked nose
so narrow and long that it reminds me of agrinning vulture. Venn has an exceptionalmemory and great skill with toxins of everykind, including his trade secret thattransmutes a specific toxin upon command within the body, bypassing all forms ofdetection. Also, I discovered that he isextremely prideful about the drinks hecreates, in addition to his poisoncraft, granting both equal values. He seemingly wants nothing more than to create theperfect drink and the perfect poison. I found Venn to be extremely affable, getting everypatron with a smile and a greeting, doing whatever he can to please his customers,
short of displeasing his other customers. Venn is an excellent, as well as honorable, informant on the criminal element in thecity; though detailed, under nocircumstances does he divulge the name of asenior patron or one’s direct activities.
Secret: How did Venn get this job?-The mysterious owners of the bar saw to itthat he was not convicted of his crimes andexecuted; thus, he is now one of their most
devoted employees.
Liseli is the server at The Rogue’sGallery, who I learned, rather quickly, is ademon of some kind, most likely a succubus. It seems she has made a pact to work hereuntil the tavern goes out of business or a1000 years and a day, whichever comes first.
Liseli can change her appearance, so as toappear as virtually anyone, to my eyes shealways appeared as both delectable anddesirable regardless of her form, mostly as a very attractive human female with an
impressive bosom. Not surprisingly, Liseli isa gifted seductress, patrons often purchasingextra drinks just to have her stay near them alittle longer. Another unexpected boon is thatshe never needs to sleep, so she is always onduty applying her charms more frequently.
Liseli enjoys teasing both men and women with her flirtations and shape-shifting, though she is held by her pact, shetold me she would stay, none the less, so as toobserve the wide variety of villainy she hasexperienced, thus far. Leseli was extremelyengaging and quite open to intimaterelationships with any number of patrons, though I found her far too intimidating. I didlearn that her demonic victims are strictlylimited to non-patrons, and since she isalways on duty she can only attack those whose patronage is revoked by Venn. This is very easy to do, actually, as they are oftenalready victims of his poisons.
If you are looking to meet up withsomeone, Liseli can make an introduction for
a price, which can range from coin, to a nightof passion; to some of your life force, but betraying her confidence will likely result inloss of patron status and theuse of her demonic powers.
Secret: How does Liseli benefit from the pact?-Once her term of service isdone she regains her free will and ownership of her
soul.- A ship in a bottle called“The Fallen Star,” whichhouses a real liveminiaturized crew who allsold their souls to her longago before she lost the bottle.
