TRANSCRIPT

New York Women in Communications introduced the WiCi Awards in 2013 to celebrate the career achievements of rising stars across the communications landscape, from advertising, public relations and marketing to broadcasting, digital and social. The 2015 awards will be held on September 24 (tickets available here). This SlideShare curates what the 2015 honorees shared about how they define success.

“Always be learning and don’t get comfortable for too long. Each step in my career has been a building block that has helped broaden my skill set. If we make every position and project a growth opportunity, there’s no limit to what we can do.”

− Katrina Craigwell, Director, Global Content and Programming, GE

“Waking up and going to sleep happy.”

− Jolie Hunt Principal, Hunt & Gather, Inc.

“I think success is about making impact and treading lightly. Is the work we are doing leaving the world better than we found it? And are we being reasonable, reliable, pleasant people while we’re doing it? If you do wonderful things, but you had to be a jerk to get them done, that’s not a win to me.”

− Genevieve Roth Senior Director of Special Projects, Glamour Magazine

“Feeling stimulated, while doing work that makes a difference in people’s lives.”

− Penny Abeywardena Commissioner, Mayor’s Office

for International Affairs
