RISERVA NATURALE DIACCIA BOTRONA The Diaccia Botrona Nature Reserve represents the last part of the marshes of Castiglione della Pescaia and covers an area of 3145 acres. The Diaccia Botrona Reserve is among the most important areas of Tuscany for wintering and migration of many species of waterfowl, waders, the elegant pink ﬂamingos, and nesting of herons and the Marsh Harrier. The Diaccia Botrona Nature Reserve and the whole town of Castiglione are places of excellence, dedicated to biodiversity and sustainable tourism; a ﬁne combination of nature, history and culture. SCHEDULED SUMMER BOAT TOURS FROM JUNE 15 TO SEPTEMBER 15 Reservation required EVERY DAY (except Monday) SCHEDULED DEPARTURES: at 5 pm and 6.30 pm FROM SEPTEMBER 16 TO JUNE 14 are available only by appointment with a minimum of 5 paying participants or equivalent. TICKETS: Full: € 12.00; children, age 5 to 14 years: € 6.00 VISITOR CENTER MULTIMEDIA MUSEUM CASA ROSSA XIMENES The Multimedia Museum Visitor Center has been created in the beautiful Casa Rossa Ximenes (iconic structure of Maremma’s Reclamation) designed in 1765 by the environmental engineer Leonardo Ximenes by will of the Grand Duke of Tuscany, Pietro Leopoldo of Lorena.
