What is LPG - Liquefied Petroleum Gas

It is a mixture of two gases

60% propane and 40% butane

LPG =

- At room temperature LPG is a gas, but it can

easily be compressed to a liquid which is easier

to store and transport.

- LPG liquid is only about half as dense as water.

This means that as a liquid it will float on water.

- LPG vapour is denser than air. This means that it

will sink to the ground and accumulate in low

spots.



LPG is compressed so that it forms a liquid that can be easily stored and transported.

When compressed, about 250 liters of gas will become just one liter of liquid.

If it is released from its pressure vessel, or when it leaks, a very small quantity of LPG liquid

will become a very large volume of vapour/air mixture.

LPG vapour is heavier than air,

when it does leak it will sink to the ground and accumulate in any low spots.

The Smell - In its natural form LPG has no smell, Enough smell is added to detect leakages.

Igniting LPG - A mixture of air and LPG can be ignited if the amount of LPG in the air is between

about 2% and 10% (The maximum flame temperature for LPG is 2,000C)



Gas Bank system includes TWO Cylinder Manifolds

(1) Active & (2) Standby

Each manifold with battery of cylinders connected together parallel to

a common pipe line.

When the Active Manifold is empty the supply of gas will automatically

commence form the Standby Manifold using automatic switch over

devices.

Thanks to the Automatic Change Over Regulator for ensuring the

continues gas supply



Customers Safety is of utmost value to us and therefore

our systems are designed and engineered to make the

customers Kitchen or other points of usage, safe and

reliable.

We follow the proven and latest regulatory system which

inculcates a sturdy - 3 Stage Pressure Regulation

System - in the system to provide multi level safety

PRS-1 = Pressure regulation of 6 Bars to 1 bar

PRS-2 = Pressure regulation of 1 Bars to 110 milli bar

PRS-3 = Pressure regulation of 110 milli bars to 28 milli bar

structure – at basement,

wherein the pressure is

further reduced from 1 bar to

110 milli bar .

This low pressure gas

passes HEADER to RISER

pipes & enters to each

individual consumer’s flat

Thus, Pressure in this full

length of Header & Riser

pipe is maintained around

110 milli bars



PRS-II Regulator has multiple safety features of –

UPSO (Under Pressure Shut off)

OPSO (Over Pressure Shut off)

UPSO- If the pressure on the outlet falls below some

limit – due to leakage- the regulator shutoffs the supply

OPSO- if the pressure in the outlet increases due to

defective LPG regulation from the cylinder bank, or its

own defect, the regulator shutoffs the supply



PRS –III ( with UPSO ) is mounted just before the gas

meter of each individual flat and then it further

reduces the pressure from 110 milli bar to 28 milli bar,

thus the pipe connecting the gas stove has a low

pressure of 28 milli bar.



UPSO - If there is an interruption of LPG gas flow for

some reason while cooking , In case the customer

has left the gas burner on, without attending to it even

after gas supply starts, the regulator will instantly

shut off the supply to the Gas stove.

The customer will have to close the Gas Stove burner

& wait for 1-2 minutes, to get the normal supply again.

Thus the combination of safety devices eliminates the

risk of LPG leaking into the customer’s kitchen and

creating a potential hazard.




Material Details


Sequence Of Work

1) Erection of ring main Header connecting all the risers of each building

complete with PRS II

2) Supply of Material for - Riser Installation - Erection of pipeline from

risers to each kitchen till isolation valve, building wise, complete with

welding of tees, clamping, etc.

3) Construction of Gas Bank.

4) Erection of Gas bank Manifold complete with all fittings and PRS I

5) Erection of main header connecting to Gas Bank

6) Copper pipe and other kitchen material installation

7) Supply & Installation of Meters

8) Testing and Commissioning of the entire system

9) Approval process

10) Commissioning the system with LPG from the Gas Banks
