RINL DEDICATES “ NETHRA JYOTHI “ TO PEOPLE

-Police Commissioner formally handed over key & lauds RINL Gesture

--RINL always in forefront in Health Care of people

RINL, the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel launched a unique and novel initiative to protect the health care of the people, particularly the rural people in and around Visakhapatnam District by dedicating the state of the art mobile eye clinic “ Nethra Jyothi “to be operated by Visakha Eye Hospital Trust as a CSR initiative of the Company.

Sri B Shivadhar Reddy, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Visakhapatnam handed over the key of “Nethra Jyothi” to Visakha Eye Hospital Trust in the presence of Sri P Madhusudan, CMD, RINL at a function held in VSP today.

Speaking on the occasion, Sri Shivadhar Reddy observed that RINL is not only pride of Vizag but also pride of the entire state and added that RINL should lead the path in fulfilling the initiatives under CSR. He complimented RINL for doing wonderful service to the society particularly for the needy in and around Vizag. He also acknowledged the RINLs continuous support to Police Department from time to time.

Sri P Madhusudan, CMD, RINL mentioned that the company is taking a big lead in implementing several CSR programmes in the areas of medical care, education care and improving basic amenities etc helping the poor and needy in the society.

Sri YR Reddy, Director (Personnel), Sri PC Mohapatra, Director (Projects), Dr P Vasusdev, Dr CV Gopala Raju, Chairman and Secretary of Visakha Eye Hospital Trust respectively participated and addressed the gathering.

Executive Directors, Senior officers of RINL, President and Vice President of VMS, union leaders Sri D Adinarayana, Sri N Rama Rao, Sri Mantri Rajsekhar, Sri N Ramachandra Rao, Sri Y Mastanappa, Sri B Satyanarayana, Sri Appala Raju and large number of employees and representatives of various trade unions attended.

Sri PMMG Krishna, GM(CSR) in his welcome address said that RINL so far spent Rs 125 crores and continue to support the societal needs.

The total cost of this project is Rs 95 lakhs funded under the CSR focus area of Health Care, one of the core values of the ogranisation. The van will benefit the districts of Vizianagaram, Srikakulam and Visakhapatnam districts and other tribal areas etc.

The main objectives of the Mobile Eye Clinic include Identification and treatment of blinding eye diseases like refraction errors, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, corneal blindness, surgical complications and age related to ocular degeneration. It is planned to conduct 5000 Cataract operations free of cost in the next 5 years and two free eye Camps per month at the locations suggested by VSP through Mobile Eye Clinic “Nethra Jyothi”.

It is also worth mentioning related to protecting the health care of the people, RINL earlier funded one crores rupees worth a state of the art mobile Cancer unit and handed over to the Lions Cancer hospital in the city.
