THE CITY
GoneWithTheWind / Shutterstock.com
Rimini belongs to the Emilia-Romagna region of
Italy and is the capital city of the Province of
Rimini. It is located between the rivers
Marecchia and Ausa and is a city of contrasts. In
the center, for instance, ancient narrow streets
and cosmopolitan squares, such as Piazza
Cavour, Piazza Tre Martiri and Corso d’Augusto
stand in contrast to the tourist zones and beach
areas where lively bars and restaurants attract
families and couples alike.
Rimini is divided into districts, each with its own
unique character: Bellariva, Marebello, Marina
Centro, Miramare, Rivabella, Rivazzurra, San
Giuliano Mare, Torre Pedrera and Viserba. The
‘must+see’ attractions include the beautiful
Tiberius Bridge, which dates from the 1st
Century AD, the Pigna Fountain and the Great
Arch of Augustus.

midnight and the wee hours of the morning.
Among the numerous festivals that Rimini oers,
the most special one is "La Notte Rosa", which is
the greatest festival of the summer, the so called

resulting in an explosion of lights, sounds,
colours, concerts, theatre performances,
readings and much more.

International Airport
(RMI) is located around 7
kilometres from the city
centre. The airport is one
of the busiest in Italy as
the area is popular with holidaying families.
Buses to the train station in the centre of Rimini
run from outside the terminal. Bus number 9

Passport / Visa
Italy can be visited
visa-free for up to 90 days
by citizens from
Australia, New Zealand,
Japan, South Korea,
Taiwan, Malaysia, Israel,
UAE and most countries in America. If you are
not sure whether or not you need to apply for a
visa, we recommend you to contact the embassy
or consulate in your country. In order to enter
the Schengen zone, international (non-Schengen)
travellers need a passport that is valid for at
least 3 months after the end of their intended
trip. Citizens from Schengen countries can travel
without a passport, but they must bring with

them a valid ID during their stay.

Best Time to Visit
The best time to visit
Rimini is during the
summertime, as the city
is famous throughout
Italy for its beach resorts
and vibrant nightlife. The
climate is warm in spring and early autumn, and
very hot during the summer months
(June-August), which makes it perfect for a beach
vacation. Also, the major events and festivals
are held during the summer, like the famous
Pink Night, which usually takes place during the
rst week of July.
Rimini, however, has more to oer, and if you
just want to visit the city and enjoy its museums
and historical places, summer probably isn't a
good idea, as the city gets very crowded and the
prices rise considerably during the high season.
In September-October the weather is still warm,
but the city is quieter, and much more enjoyable.

Public Transport
The best way to get
around the Rimini city
centre is to walk. You can
also get around easily by
taxi or by hiring a car or
bicycle. AMR buses and
trams operate throughout the city and outlying
suburbs. Tickets can be purchased at the ticket
shops located throughout the city, at the
automated ticket machines or directly on board
with an extra charge. A one-way ticked costs
around 1.30 € in the urban area of Rimini.
