As the federal election looms closer, politicians are gathering at communi-ty forums to express their views, encourage people to get out and vote and, above all, sway the public opinion in their favour.
A forum held at the Peter Lougheed Community Centre last Tuesday at-tracted a good crowd, sparked lively conversa-tion and gave politicians a chance to interact with the public.
Jeff Rock from the Liberal Party, Blaine Calkins, MP for the Conservatives and Doug Hart from the NDP who are running in the Red Deer Lacombe Constituency were front row and centre at the de-bate as they fi elded ques-tions from the audience and offered comments at the beginning and the end of the forum.
