Newborn: Stacy Nehring is delighted to have had the opportunity recently to hold a newborn Pygmy goat. The baby goat, who has a twin sister, was born on Nehrings hobby farm located northeast of Rimbey. The tiny goat is a welcome addition to the farm which includes a variety of animals including donkeys, chickens, pigs and horses.

    Breton man faces charges

A 29-year-old man from Breton found himself to be in the wrong place at the wrong time when he was stopped by Rimbey RCMP while driving down-town during the evening of Jan. 1.

A search by offi cers showed him to not only have brass knuckles in his vehicle, police also turned up substances which are believed to be crystal meth and cocaine. Three loaded fi rearms were also found.

The individual is now facing several charges and will appear in Provincial Court in Rimbey on Jan. 22.

The arrest followed a busy month for the local RCMP, said Const. Carman Dutz.

In keeping with the Christmas season, mem-bers of the RCMP were able to tie a bow on a few fi les by making arrests and laying charges for a variety of offences, said Dutz.

Solving crimes related to possession of stolen mail and vehicles, possession of drugs for the purpose of traffi cking, weapons of-fences and impaired driv-ing kept offi cers busy.
