World news:SpaceX billionaire plans to take humans to Mars by 2024Billionaire Elon Musk has unveiled his ambitious plan to take humans to Mars by the year 2024. Musk made the announcement at a big space conference in Mexico. He's calling his idea the Interplanetary Transport System. The business man is not stopping at space taxis - he hopes one day to have humans living on the red planet. Musk has set up a company called SpaceX that he says will be able to take paying passengers into space. Around 100 people would travel in reusable rockets at more than 19000mph to Mars Billionaire. Dogs in US surfing contestDogs of all shapes and sizes have been taking part in the annual "Surf City Surf Dog" competition in California. Crowds watched the pooches compete in four weight divisions and the difficult "shredder" category. They were judged on a variety of skills, including the length of time they spent on the board and their confidence while surfing the waves. The competition took place at Huntington Dog Beach, near Los Angeles.

Wellington News:Brand new school councillors!Last week you and your class voted for who you want to be your school councillor representing your class. One boy, one girl to be your speaker so if you come up with a unique idea, the school councillors would bring it up and tell Miss Gaffney in the next meeting. Hopefully, your idea might be used and to have a feeling to be a part of something is quite special. Mohammed, in Pine class stated, “Even though, I didn’t get it, it was a quite fun making a manifesto. Anyway, there is always next year!’

This week, Holy class presented a wonderful assembly on Black History Month. It began on Sunday the 1st of October and ends on the 31st of October. The assembly itself was full of information and many children have learnt from it. Karanveer, in Holy class stated, ‘ It was fun presenting it to the classes and I hope we taught people on Black History Month’ Thankfully, Holy Class had the help from the staff to have an amazing assembly.

Local news:Hindu festival in Hounslow expected to draw 7,000 visitorsA four-day Hindu festival in Hounslow celebrating the triumph of good over evil is expected to attract more than 7,000 visitors. Durga Puja is being marked for the fifth year running at the Ashiana Banqueting Hall in Bell Road, Hounslow. As usual, the celebrations will include a mixture of prayers, dance and music, and free food will be served up to the masses each day. This year's event will run from Friday, October 7 to Monday, October 10, and organisers stress that anyone is welcome to attend - not just Hindus.
