Dig In is in the Present- NOT the past: DIG IN presents the Bible as real and relevant. Kids understand the Bible is not full of distant, irrelevant principles, but is packed with rich meaning that applies to their lives today.

Dig In means Knowing- NOT knowing about: DIG IN moves kids from knowing about the historical Jesus to knowing him personally and growing in a relationship with him.

Dig In is Experiential- NOT lecture: DIG IN offers multisensory, educationally sound experiences that immerse kids in learning, rather than teacher talk that can result in boredom, disciplinary problems, and disengagement.

Dig In is Relational- NOT impersonal: DIG IN lessons involve interaction, conversation, and storytelling. Kids learn from adults who share their own faith stories, building trust, friendship, and a faith that sticks. Kids practice relational skills that help them live out their faith beyond the classroom.

Dig In Asks Tough Questions- NOT avoiding the tough stuff: DIG IN tackles grappling questions head-on in Deeper Bible. This shows kids that no questions or doubts are off-limits. Asking questions grows faith. Jesus was the Master Asker who didn’t fear the tough questions.

We will resume with our Fall Schedule on September 4th. Preschool will be on the first floor. Elementary Classes are combined K/1st, 2nd/3rd and 4th/5th on the second floor.

USHER RECRUITMENT AND

TRAINING

Ushering is an important and meaningful opportunity for helping during our worship services. We want men, women and high school youth to prayerfully consider being an usher. Using all volunteers we will create an usher schedule for each of the morning services. Usher training is scheduled for Sunday, September 11th at 10:00 am in the sanctuary. It is for current ushers and new recruits. Every usher is urged to attend as we are explaining some new responsibilities that will soon begin. Glenn

Joyful Jamboree Training September 11th or 18th

10am in the Chapel

We are excited to welcome new members to the team and encourage anyone interested in volunteering in Joyful Jamboree (children’s church) to please come check it out at the volunteer training. We will have a chance to try out the a/v equipment, answer questions, give tips, and discuss the

various roles each week in worship. This training is for current and new volunteers. Joyful Jamboree is a once monthly commitment and I work with your schedule. Please know that you will not be asked to lead right away. We need plenty of adults to help keep kids focused and to worship with them. Please let Janine know if you are interested. If neither of these dates works for you, I can make alternate arrangements for you. I look forward to seeing you at the training. Thank you to all the volunteers who worship with the children. We have a wonderful time getting to learn and worship together.

Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." Matthew 19:14

Wednesday After School JAM (Jesus and Me)

Resumes September 7th from

3:45—5:45 pm

We have 120 children signed up to attend. If you would like to be added to the waiting list or have any questions, please contact Janine. We are excited to see the children and to spend this year focusing on how to be a real life super hero! Preschoolers will have an ABC adventure as they focus on a different letter word and verse from the Bible each week. Thank you to the amazing volunteers who have signed up to help! Please be in prayer for all the families and volunteers as we begin our 6th year in JAM.

Sincerely,

Janine
