Summer is a great time to read for pleasure. In an effort to promote summer reading, Richmond Public Schools has teamed up with the Richmond Public Library and the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation to make summer reading even more fun. Students are encouraged to read as many books as they would like either from the lists in this flyer or by making their own choices. In order to receive summer reading prizes, the following requirements must be met: School Library: To receive a prize from your school librarian this fall, high school students are required to: Read 700 minutes total from these lists (authors, series or titles) or from their own choices during the summer; Complete the Summer Reading Form (which can be found at this address: http://tinyurl.com/richmondreads and Return it to the school librarian by September 18, 2015. Public Library: Students can sign up for the RPL Summer Challenge and collect the required points using books on these lists or making their own choices from the menu provided on the Challenge Log. Complete 25 and earn a book and 1 entry into the grand prize drawing (bike); finish by completing 50 activities and earn a bag and another entry for the grand prize drawing.
