To whom it may concern:
Richard Bowyer (ID No 5908115219080) was employed as Site Manager by WBHO for a period of 28 Months from September 2012 to December 2014.
Richard was appointed on a contract Basis and his employment ends 31 December 2014 due to the completion of the current contract.
During this period Richard was seconded to KALCON Botswana (a wholly owned subsidiary of WBHO) where he managed our opencast mining contract in Central Botswana.
His was responsible for the management of all open cast mining activities including but not limited to:
1. Programming and planning of the mining sequence,2. Resourcing and optimizing load and haul activities,3. Managing and monitor blasting subcontractor,4. Ensuring compliance with HSE requirements,5. Optimization of production with regards to all mining activities6. Production reporting,7. Liaising with client on operational requirements,8. Negotiations with trade union,9. Daily management of administrative activities.
In his capacity as Site Manager and being a Botswana Blasting License holder he was appointed by the client as Responsible Person In Charge (9.4 appointment in terms of Mines an Quarries act) and was therefore responsible to ensure full compliance with Botswana Mines, Quarries, Works and Machinery act requirements.
During his period with WBHO Richard has proven himself to be a hard working reliable and dedicated individual. He performed his duties diligently and always seeked to act in the best interest of his employer as well as maintaining a good working relationship with the client. Richard dealt very well with the challenges associated with running a 24/7 operation and frequently returned to site during nightshift operations to ensure compliance with both safety and production requirements.
Richard Bowyer displayed an extensive knowledge of mining principles and methods which he implemented effectively throughout his employment with WBHO.
