Rhondda Choir to represent Wales in Festival Interceltique de Lorient Pendyrus Male Choir has been invited to represent Wales in the biggest Celtic Music Festival in the world this summer for the ‘Year Of Wales’ at Lorient in Brittany. Over 65 members of the choir will travel to northern France at the beginning of August to perform for audiences of 1000s, French television and they will sing at the beautiful Cathedral de Saint-Louis for a concert which will be attended by Welsh First Minister, Carwyn Jones. Pendyrus is no stranger to this festival, having performed there in 2011. Wales, in 2018.

With a membership of nearly 100, Pendyrus is the largest choir in the Rhondda and indeed one of the largest in Wales. The choir has in recent years also enjoyed competitive success having won the Cardigan Semi-National Eisteddfod in 2010,2012 and 2017.

The choir is always looking for new members. They rehearse at the Rhondda Fach Sports Centre, Tylorstown on Monday and Wednesday evenings between 7.30 and 9.15. A warm welcome to be guaranteed to all new members and visitors!
