DESCRIPTION
September 2008 I set up at The Creative Native Gallery. It features many native Florida and Florida style artists including my mom and sister. We set up outside the gallery and painted all day. See their work and also Pam Moody's art. A peek at The Creative Native Gallery, too. This gallery carries alot of my mermaids.TRANSCRIPT

Me, my mom and sister set up outside The Creative Native
Gallery in East Tampa. Brandon’s Center Place put on
an art walkbetween some East Tampa. We
were the show. We set up outside to paint while the main
show was inside with The Creative Native Gallery’s many
artists. This slide show is pics of the
outside of the gallery, my mom/sister/me and inside of the
gallery.
Check out the dreads in the picture—nice right! That’s my painting style. Standing up.
Outside. Sometimes holding the wood like a violin. This painting
is a sign of my signs.
I rather enjoy the irony. RhondaK, Native Florida Folk Artist

I started painting the sign of signs a few months ago. I
use a lot of finger painting. I do tall signs about
inspirational signs, beer, island time, funny drinking signs, memory lane, fishing
signs and more.
My biggest one is at Star Fish Company with 14
signs. I get asked to re-paint that 3’x5’ sign, but it is really
honestly one of a kind.

My Mom Painting.http://www.shirleysart.com
She began painting with me as dad got ill. When he died, she
joined me doing shows.
She likes meeting all the people. Every week she picks up something new to paint and do. She likes trying things out.
This is a strawberry. She grew up mostly in Plant City—Home of the Strawberry Festival. She used to pick strawberries with
her family to make their family’s money to survive. As a kid, she didn’t have electricity or an ice box. She had 4 brothers and
sisters. A very different kind of life growing up on strawberries.

This ends my show. Sometimes being a tiki bar sign artist is being a clown standing on the side of the road. If you can’t paint while people talk to you, tell you what you should be doing, ask you questions and just stare at you….being a tiki bar sign painter is not for YOU!
The things you do in between hurricanes…
