Join Arthur Tapp in conversation with Birmingham Music Archive founder Jez Collins as they look backon 24 years of Arthur's involvement with local music. 

Jez will probe Arthur about his steadfast belief in Midlands-made music; the highs and lows ofpromoting and the changes he has seen during this time; his favourite (and least favourite!) gigs; andwhat he really thought of My Dad Hitla, who were managed by Collins, and voted by Blue Whale Blogreaders as the best unsigned Birmingham band of the last decade.

A visual and aural exhibition showcasing some of the handmade cassettes and posters sent to theCatapult Club over the past 24 years, alongside live footage shot across countless gigs at The Jug of Ale.

The exhibition features material from some of Birmingham's best including Ocean Colour Scene, Editors,King Adora, Broadcast, and Pram.

Named official film of Record Store Day 2013, and inspired by the book of the same name by GrahamJones, Last Shop Standing takes you behind the counter to discover why nearly 2000 record shops havealready disappeared across the UK.

SAT 20 APR | 3PM | ADMISSION FREESCREENING: Who Shot the Sheriff? [dir: Alan Miles, 2005]

Firefighter turned filmmaker Alan Miles’ documentary tells the story of the Rock Against Racism (RAR)movement of the 70s, when music played a key part in mobilising opposition to racism and the NationalFront. Featuring rare archive footage from the punk and RAR era – including the Clash, the Specials,Steel Pulse, and Misty in Roots – the film draws on a wealth of exclusive interviews with musicians andactivists associated with RAR to give testimony to the narrative of the rise of racism and the NationalFront in 70s Britain.
