Exporting Revit Renderings + Photoshop Editing Revit has the ability to produce photo-realistic renderings of buildings and land- scapes. In order to make these renderings appear even more realistic, inserting people into the buildings and landscape help to animate the spaces that were de- signed. Since Revit has an insufficient library of realistic people, we must turn to other resources to enhance our renderings. One of the best places to look for free people for renderings is Immediate Entourage. www.immediateentourage.com Here you can browse for people doing a variety of activities, site furniture, and landscape components. In order to make these renderings appear even more realistic, inserting people into the buildings and landscape help to animate the spaces that were de-signed. Since Revit has an insufficient library of realistic people, we must turn to other resources to enhance our renderings.

Here you can browse for people doing a variety of activities, site furniture, and landscape components.

In Revit, after you have rendered your image, save the rendering to the project as well as export the image. Create a new folder in a location where you can easily access the images again To export, click EXPORT --> name the file, file type should be a .JPG --> press SAVE

**Always remember to SAVE and synchronize your Revit model.

Animating your Renderings in Adobe Photoshop

Save a new copy of your image --> File, SAVE AS --> file name_rendered.psdselect photoshop in the drop down menu for file type

Now you are ready to insert your people. File --> Place --> find the folder with the people/images you saved --> select the image to be placed in the rendering --> press ENTER

Once the image appears in the rendering, it will be on its own Photoshop layer. This woman is obviously too large for this view of the rendering. Hold down the SHIFT key and toggle the arrows of the grey box surround ing the image to rescale the person to fit in the rendering. **remember to save the Photoshop file (.PSD) intermittently.

After you are satisfied with your rendering, it is time to save the rendering in a format that you can use in a presentation.

File, SAVE AS --> file name_rendered_flattened.pdf --> Press SAVE (in the drop down menu for file type, select Photoshop PDF)

Now you must flatten your image to reduce the file size. Layer --> Flatten Image File --> Save

** All of your layers have now been “deleted” to reduce the file size(don’t worry, that is why we saved a copy as a .psd to preserve all the layers and editing capa-bilities of the file.)

Now your rendering looks even better and you are ready to place it into your presentation material.
