Shakespearein Trouble? What is Shakespeare inTrouble? Well, Shakespeare in
Trouble is a theater playmade by The Performerswhich involves 3 of the mostfamous plays of WilliamShakespeare; it is presented inBogota in the AgustinianoCiudad Salitre. Students fromdifferent schools such asRochester School, TierraNueva and San Bartolome dela Merced assisted to this playon October 31th/12 at 10:30am act. Rochester Schoolstudents from 8th grade to 11thgrade assisted to this play inorder to have the opportunityof meeting with this plays ofWilliam Shakespeare bypaying attention to the wholeact and learning what theplay wants to expose. In thisarticle I am going to compareand contrast the theater playpresented by The Performersand the 3 original plays ofWilliam Shakespeare involved
in The Performers presentationwhich are: Romeo and Juliet,The King Lear and Macbeth. In addition, I am going to talkabout some things that I thinkmight be better to improve.
The Performers play and WilliamShakespeare plays have many
similarities and differences, buyfirst I am going to start byexposing to you the similarities ofthem. The Performers idea ofRomeo and Juliet show parts ofthe real one, for example bothof them show the story of twoyoung lovers that despite therivalry between their families, decided to fight for their love to
the point of having a secretwedding, ending up bycommitting suicide by a series ofevents. Now, the similarities withthe original King Lear are thatboth plays come up with thesame story of the old king thatdo proves to his daughters tosee who of them stays with thekingdom but is betrayed by
them. Another similarity is that inboth plays they say And laughat gilded butterflies a part of aquote I really like. Finally, thesimilarity between Macbeth andThe Performers play is the same, they come up with the samestory which is of a general thatreceives a prophecy in which heis going to be king, so impulse by
his wife he kills people becomingthe king ending up with herwifes death and his own too.The connection between WilliamShakespeare plays is that the 3of them are tragedies.

The differences between ThePerformers play and Shakespeareones are some others; the principaldifference is that The Performersplay context is in a drama classwhere 4 students start to talk aboutthe 3 different plays of Shakespeareand begin to act them trying to
bring to life Shakespeares famousworks while Romero and Juliet, KingLear and Macbeth are 3 differentand separate plays. Anotherdifference is that the actors in ThePerformers play included musicalissues unlike Shakespeare worksthat dont contain anything ofmusical issues. Also another
difference is that The Performersplay occurs like in actuality butrepresenting Shakespeare playsfrom the past in the same scenarioin contrast that Shakespeare worksoccur like in 15th or 16th century inmany different scenarios andbackgrounds. In my opinion, ThePerformers should improve somethings, first select carefully themusic they are going to use fortheir play if they are suppose torepresent Shakespeare works andalso connect better the title withthe play because people includingme where expecting somethingdifferent for example I dont
understood the title said LauraOrtega and I expected to see thestory of Shakespeare while writinghis works or something like thatsaid Richard Moreno.
In conclusion, this theater plapresented in Bogota has isimilarities and differences witthe original Shakespeare works, similar principally by the contenof stories written by Shakespearand the one shown by ThPerformers and different becaus
of the style of the showinproposal, the play has its goothings and also has not so goothings or things to improveprincipally the connectiobetween the title of the pla(Shakespeare in Trouble) and thcontent of the theater plabecause it is not so clear for th
audience why does the play called like this. If you want tknow more about this play go tThe Performers site and search fofuture functions here in Bogotfor you to enjoy, see or judge byou what this article is talkinabout!

The Story of CupcakesHave you seen something more deliciousthan a cupcake? Had you ever wonder toknow how this cake was invented? Oreither you wanted to know why it is calledlike this? Cupcakes nowadays are usedas decoration in parties, for having a goodtime while making them, for giving themas gifts, for buying and selling them andfor other things, but previously they weremade by housewives for cookingsomething sweet and creative.
The cupcake was created in the UnitedStates in the 19th century and it was agreat invention because of the amount oftime it saved in the kitchen and how easyit was to cook. In the 19th century, housewives used the measure of a cup for
making cupcakes but while times changeand different things were invented the wayto do them and the measures alsochanged. According to the Food TimelineWeb housewives used two different waysfor cooking cupcakes There are twotheories: The cakes were original cookedin cups and the ingredients used to makethe cupcakes were measured out by thecup. In the beginning, cupcakes werecalled "number" cakes, because they wereeasy to remember by the measurementsof ingredients it took to create them: Onecup of butter, two cups of sugar, threecups of flour, four eggs, one cup of milk, and one spoonful of soda. Cupcakes arecalled like this because its name meanscake in a cup all because its oldpreparation.
Since cupcakes creation, cupcakes havebecome a pop culture in the culinarworld. They have being created lots oshops devoted to create cupcakes andsell them. And also when cupcakeevolve many different ways, decoration

27 Years Ago Disaster
Do you remember whathappened 27 years ago? Dontyou remember the suffering of
many people on November 13of 1985? Or perhaps you werethere? Well, although I wasntthere on November 13 of 1985,I am going to describe you whathappened that day according towhat my family has told to meand what I have found aboutthe tragedy. On November 13 of1985 the Armero tragedyoccurred, it was a naturaldisaster produced by thevolcanic eruption of the Nevadodel Ruiz in Tolima, Colombia. Inthis tragedy approximately
more than 30.000 people diedall because the governmentdecided not to tell them whatwas going to happen with theNevado del Ruiz. The pyroclasticflows emitted from thevolcanos crater melted a 10%of the mountains glassier,
sending 4 enormous laharsdown the mountain at 60 km/hand then the lahars took placeto the 6 bigger rivers in thevolcanos base. The town ofArmero located at 50 km of thevolcano was hit by the laharsmaking that 20.000 died that
night.
This tragedy could have beenavoided, although the eruptionwas inevitable, millions opeople could have been savedif the government had warnedthem of what was comingbecause after the tragedy, iemerged that the first signs osmoke on the volcano wereissued in September 1985, sothe government had the timeto warn people and make anevacuation plan, but they didnand thats why nowadays weregret this tragedy. Personally, think the Colombiangovernment is directly involvedwith the deaths of these people
because it was a foreseeablecatastrophe. A banner at amass funeral in Ibague read"The volcano didn't kill 22,000people. The government killedthem. The relief efforts aftethe tragedy occurred weredifficult to make because of the
huge mud that has covering thetown and the huge gasemission that was still coveringthe town and after 12 hours thesavers could help people whostill alive. In addition to thesuffering already caused, thefundraiser of money to rebuild
the town was spent on othethings.

That night of November 13 of 1985 at 9:09pm the Nevado del Ru
ejected dacitic tephra more than 30 kilometers into th
atmosphere, but at 11:00 pm the lahars arrived to Armero. Ifyo
go to Armero you can still hear the cries of help from people sai
Aida Murad de Albornoz. When the avalanche arrived to the tow
all was quiet and after too, is true what they say, after the storm
comes the calm said Miguel Jaluf (Survivor from Armeros tragedy
When the lava reached us, it felt as if I was suspended in the air fo
a second and then had fallen back said Layla Jaluf (Survivor from
Armeros tragedy). Maybe you had hear many stories about th
tragedy and maybe the most famous the one of Omayra Sanchez,
girl who was trapped under rubble and mud for three days whic
died for gas gangrene and hypothermia and the truth about thstory is that Omayra could probably be alive if the government ha
responded to the request for a water pump to drain water quick
where she was so people get her out of there, but there was n
response from the government since the image of the girl gav
great publicity. And there are thousands of stories like this one tha
are not so popular or recognized.I truly believe that one day these kinds of tragedies can be avoided
that people will realize the harm they do to society and all they d
for citizens cease to believe in our government. This tragedy
lamentable; many things could have been avoided but thanks to th
negligence of some people there were many others affected by th
disaster. There are many things not yet known and its importanthat we as citizens do something as community and avoid man
problems. This tragic story turns 27 years of having occurred th
year and I hope many people are able to go and visit Armero an
see what they can remember about that wonderful town. It
unfortunate that despite efforts, this wonderful town full o
memories and anecdotes has not been able to fully lift. 27 years othe history of a town, huge years of stories to remember.11

Have you wondered what the causes ofWorld War I were? Or why did theRussian Revolution occur? Or eitherwhat is the connection between thesetwo? In history class this year studentsof 9th grade of Rochester School
addressed these two issues that werecatastrophic to the world, the FirstWorld War and the Russian Revolution.I will explain what I had learn in class, what were the causes of these twoevents, why are they called like this, the connection between these eventsand some other things of interest. TheFirst World War was an event that
happened between July 28, 1914 andNovember 11, 1918 and passedbetween major European powersbecause they wanted to extend theirterritories. The Russian Revolution wasan event that overthrew the czaristregime of the 19th century. These twoevents were primarily in Europe, Asiaand Africa.
The World War I started whenFrancisco Fernando was killed on July28, 1914. The conflict was because ofthe imperialism of external politics ofdifferent power like the Austro-Hungarian empire, the Russian empire, etc. Then many other countries start toparticipate in the war like EE.UU,Japan, Africa, etc. And two big groupsformed: The Triple Entente and the
Triple Alliance. The World War I wascalled like this because it hadinvolvement of fighters from differentcountries. The Russian Revolutionoccurred because Russia had anautocratic and repressive governmentbecause of Czar Nicolas II, the RussianRevolution causes different revolutionswhich finished with the Czar regimen
and destroyed Russia. And thats whyRussia left the World War I.
The connection between these twevents is that Russia had severaproblems years ago before the WorlWar I started and when the WorlWar I began, the Russian Revolutioalso but in the middle of the Worl
War I. When the Russian Revolutiostarted Russia weakened and had twithdraw from the First World Wabecause the government had manproblems with the citizens. Russiwas a great participant in the WorlWar I because it was many politicaand economical revenge witdifferent countries and also Russi
was part of the Triple Entente whicwon the battle without Russia. Russiwas weak so thats why thgovernment decided to translate itgovernment into a socialist ansoviet nation in which citizens havthe right to vote and other things.
The World War I and the RussiaRevolution ended with the sign oThe Treaty of Versailles which saithat Germany had all the fault of thwar and that need to play to thTriple Entente. These two eventwere catastrophic for the humanitand for the whole world. Thesevents marked part of history anthats why nowadays we remembethis as events to regret becausmany people were involved and died

The City Of The FutureCan you imagine how Bogota willbe in 50 years? What will changeand what will happen with all ofus? I am going to describe you
how could Bogota look like in 50years and some things that aregoing to be better. Bogota andthe whole world are in constantimprovement and many thingsare changing and improvingincluding housing, technology, health, clothes, sports, food, world relations, transportationentertainment and many otherthings. Different things are goingto appear In our cities by theincrease of knowledge in people, things are going to change inmany different aspects.
According to a research made byDiscovery Channel, homes in thefuture will be greener becausepeople will have moreenvironmental awareness andwill want to help repair thedamage they are doing to theenvironment at this moment andthis will be viable thanks to newrenewable energy resources.
Health will specialize inimproving patient health throughhigh automation of the tools. The technology will be based onthe use of the Internet tocommunicate with differentpeople around the world makingeasier the communication with
different cultures.
Also food will change because it will bnot so natural, it will be more artificiby the use of technology while makinfood. Sports will become some modifficult but some others easier, the
will be galactic things because it expected that the Earth could have connection with the moon. Worrelations will be easier because yowill communicate with different peopin just a second. Also transportatiowill advance, as we have seen omovies, cars in the future are expecteto fly. In Bogota different things w
advance but is expected that not sfast as in other countries that havmore resources and technology fodoing more things better and faster.
In 50 years some things will improvand some others will be not so goosome things will advance and somothers will stay the same. People agoing to have more knowledge abou
many different things and will enjoand have the opportunity of meetinwith different things ancircumstances. As we see, many thingare going to appear and personallyexpect that people can use things athey are suppose to be use and givthe new technology a good use annot for harming others or inventinthings that are not good for a societ
or for kids and persons that will live that near future. Great minds are thheart of a great community.

What I Learned in ChineseWhere am I learning Chinese here in Colombia? It is so difficult or is not that badI am going to describe you what I have learned this year in Chinese class. Rochester School, as a 3rd language the directives decided to apply either Chinesnor French. I personally decided to choose to learn Chinese because I think thafor me is easier to learn French later in any academy here in Bogota than learninChinese in the future because here in Colombia there are not so many places folearning it and also because for me Chinese its going to be a very importanlanguage in the future world relations.
I am learning Chinese for approximately 3 months ago and I have learn how twrite, recognize and pronounce different basic words that can be useful in conversation with a person from China. In Chinese class I have learn basic thingshave learned the numbers from 1 to 100, the parts of the body and thnecessary words and phrases for having a conversation with someone. Also
learned how to write the numbers and how to write the parts of the body. Mteachers name is Bei Tian, she also had teach parts of the verb to be in ChineseAlso I learned the way to write each character in Chinese because in Chinese thway of writing has an special path.
In Chinese there is no alphabet, they have approximately 6000 characters tharepresent a word, there are no individual letters. Each character represensomething determinate and each word for depending where is located, foexample when we talk about parts of the body if you are talking about the hea
the way of writing and pronouncing the word is similar to the way of writing anpronouncing hair. It is impossible for us to learn all the characters that Chineshas because kids in China learn 30 new words each day they go to school startinfrom kindergarten while my class and I will learn approximately 15 new wordeach quarter.
I think that having either Chinese nor French in our school Is a great opportunitfor learning. Not only how to talk a different language but also for knowing morabout different cultures. It is a great advance for the school and it is a grea
opportunity for future negotiations in our future works. I expect I will know morabout different people and the way they live by learning more each Chinese clasNi jiao W de mngz jio mlyy l hng d l (Hola mi nombre es MarAlejandra) I hope that with learning this new language many doors can open fome, that my classmates and I learn many different things and that I could possibtalk relatively goo this language.
