Computer Based Test (CBT)

• The Computer-Based Test (CBT) is a simple andbetter way to conduct exams using Computers

• Testing is done in person, on a computer, at anapproved testing center

• With the Technological developments, the CBT isbecoming the standard format for most of theentrance tests.

Merits of CBT

1. Candidates are free to change their answers at any pointof time during the CBT

2. As there is no bubbling involved in CBT, the chancesfor wrong bubbling is completely eliminated

3. Candidates can see a Countdown Timer in the top rightcorner of screen

4. Test duration is 180 minutes in which candidate shouldanswer 160 Questions

5. At any point of time, candidate has a complete view ofnumber of Questions answered / not answered /answered and marked for review/ not answered markedfor review/not visited

Candidate is expected to know about Computer operations to take CBT

• Operating a Computer Mouse: single click andscrolling the bar with mouse

• Keyboard is not required during Examination

Steps for CBT1. Candidate should verify the Hall Ticket Number displayed on

the allocated system and enter the password

2. Verify personal information along with photograph displayed onthe computer system used for taking the CBT. If any mismatchin the data, immediately the candidate should report to theinvigilator. Read all the instructions carefully

3. Click on Check box “I have read and understood theinstructions…..” after reading the instructions

4. Click on “I am ready to begin” button

5. Start answering the questions

Instructions for TS EAMCET-2020 • Candidate should report at Test Center two hours before the

commencement of the test on the date and time mentioned in theHall Ticket

• Candidates will not be allowed into the Test Center even if they areLATE BY A MINUTE after the commencement of the test and notallowed to leave the examination hall till the END of theexamination (i.e.,12.00 Noon in forenoon session and 6.00 PM inafternoon session) under any circumstances

• Hall Ticket & ID verification will be done at the entrance of the testcenter and allowed after complying with all the rules of the Test

• TS EAMCET-2020 officials will take candidate’s Photograph

• Invigilators will guide candidates to their respective computers /nodes allotted

Login On the allotted Computer / Node, Candidate’s details (Name, Photograph etc.) will be

displayed as shown below At the scheduled time (15 minutes before the start of the Test), Enter Username and

Password as instructed by the Invigilator in the exam hall After entering Username and Password click on “Sign In” button For any system related assistance, contact the invigilators by raising hand

Test Taking Process

• Questions are displayed one at a time in English and Telugulanguages (English and Urdu languages if medium of testselected as Urdu in Online application).

• Questions in Mathematics / Biology & Zoology, Physicsand Chemistry are displayed in different Sections (Subjects)

• Candidate should select the Section (Subject) which he / shewould like to start the Test

• 1st Question from the selected Section (Subject) getsdisplayed for answering or Click on the question number inthe Question Palette in the right side of your screen to go tothat numbered question directly

• Question and options for the selected question number willbe displayed in “Question window”

Note that ONLY Questions for which answers are saved by clicking on“Save & Next” button or “Mark for Review and Next” button after answeringwill be considered for evaluation

Test Taking Process Contd..• Select any one of the four options as answer for the question

by clicking on the radio button (small circle) beside eachoption

• To change the already chosen answer, click on the radiobutton (small circle) of another option. If you want toremove the answer, click on Clear Response button

• To save your answer, you MUST click on the Save & Nextbutton and then go to the next question, otherwise youranswer will not be saved

• After answering a question to mark the question for review,click on the Mark for Review & Next button. If ananswered question is selected for Mark for Review, thatanswer will be considered in the evaluation

Note that ONLY Questions for which answers are saved by clicking on“Save & Next” button or “Mark for Review and Next” button after answering willbe considered for evaluation

• Submit button will not be enabled till the Test closure time(180 Minutes). System will automatically submit youranswers Post Test (after test closure time)

• Test Summary will be displayed to the candidate withSection (Subject) Name, Number of Questions in a Section(Subject), Answered, Not Answered, Marked for Review,Answered and Marked for Review and Not Visited

• Please confirm by clicking ‘Next’ Button

• Your Test will be successfully submitted with thisconfirmation

Features Available on Main ScreenZoom In or Zoom Out

• Zoom In ‘+‘ or Zoom Out ‘-‘ buttons help to increase or decrease the font size of question and options

Timer

• The countdown timer starts ticking down as soon as you click the button “I am ready tobegin”

• The countdown timer in the top right corner of screen will display the remaining timeavailable (Time Left) for you to complete the Test

• When the timer reaches zero, the Test will end by itself automatically. You are not requiredto click on “Submit” button to end your Test

Sections (Subjects) Navigation

Sections (Subjects) in this question paper are displayed on the top bar of the screen

Questions in each Section (Subject) can be viewed by clicking on the Section (Subject) name

The Section (Subject), candidate is currently viewing will be highlighted

Candidate can change the Section (Subject) by clicking on the respective Section (Subject)name, anytime within the duration of the Test

After clicking the Save & Next button on the last question for a Section (Subject), you will be automatically takento the first question of the next Section (Subject)Candidate can view summary of the corresponding Section (Subject) as part of the legend that appears in everySection (Subject) above the Question Palette

Question Palette

The Question Palette displayed on the right side of the screen will show all the questionnumbers in the selected Section (Subject) along with the status of each question using oneof the following symbols :

The Marked for Review status for a question indicates that you would like to look at that question again. If a question is answered and Marked for Review, your answer for that question will be considered for evaluation

Question Window Question Window displays one Question at a time along with the four options Selecting a question number from Question Palette will display respective question

and options in the Question Window

Question Window - Expanded View Click on the ">" arrow button (located on the right side of Question Window) to

hide the Question Palette in order to maximize the Question Window To view the Question Palette again click on "<" (located on the right side of

Question Window)

Scroll bar in Question Window helps to view the lengthy questions by scrolling it up or down

Clear Response Button Candidate can deselect (erase) the chosen option (answer) of any question by

clicking on the “Clear Response” button

Question Paper Click on “Question Paper” button for complete view of question paper

along with options (Note: Candidate can’t answer any question in this view)

Click on “Close X” button to close the Question Paper view and enter the Test taking mode.

Instructions Candidate can also view the instructions during the Test by clicking on “Instructions”

button.

Click on “Close X” button to close the Instructions view and enter the Test taking mode.

Important Instructions• Visit the allotted Test Center a day before the examination to

identify the exact location and route• Candidate will be permitted into the Examination Hall 1 hour 15

mins. before the commencement of the test.• Candidates will not be permitted into the examination hall, even if

they are LATE BY A MINUTE after the commencement of thetest.

• Candidate will not be admitted into the Examination Hall once thetest commences and will not be allowed to leave the ExaminationHall till the END of the Examination. Candidates may go to toiletsbefore entering the exam halls

• Hall ticket shall be produced at the Entrance of the Test Centre andalso in the Examination Hall, failing which the candidates will notbe allowed to write the test

• The candidates have to handover “Filled in Online applicationform” and “Booklet for Rough Work” in the Examination Hall.Otherwise their Results will be withheld.

Important Instructions contd..

• The candidate shall carry into the Examination hall only(i) Black / Blue Ball Point Pen (ii) Filled in Online Application form

(iii) Hall Ticket (iv) Community certificate for SC/ST candidate

• Carrying of Calculators, Mathematical / Log Tables, Pagers, CellPhones, Watches, any other electronic gadgets and loose sheets ofpaper into the Examination Hall is strictly prohibited and candidatesare advised not to bring any one of the above. For rough work, abooklet will be provided in the examination hall.

• Any sort of malpractice, impersonation found, serious criminal actionwill be taken against the Candidate as per the law.

• Read the Instructions carefully given on the Hall ticket and Bookletfor Rough Work provided in the examination hall.

• Candidate shall enroll with photo capture before start of theexamination, failing which his/her candidature will be rejected.
