Returning a Shipment on fedex.com Step by Step

1. Choose Create Return Shipment from the Prepare Shipment tab.

2. Verify the address you are returning the package to.


3. Enter the address you are returning the package from. You can choose an address

from your FedEx address book, your Microsoft Outlook address book, or you can

enter it manually.

4. Select any of the available boxes


5. Indicate the return label type as Print, Email label, Express Tag, or Ground Call

Tag.

Note: There will be a demonstration of each return label type scenario. Please

click Next at the top left of your screen if you wish to move ahead.

6. Choose Print as your return label type if you want to print a return label.


7. Indicate the service type.

8. Indicate the package type.


9. Enter the number of packages.

10. Enter the total weight.


11. If you would like to email a return label, select Email label.

12. Verify the expiration date or change it by clicking on the calendar icon.


13. Enter the email address where the label will be emailed to.

14. Enter a return contact phone number.

19. Enter an item description.

20. If you would like to use an Express Tag, select that option in the return label type

dropdown.


25. Verify the pickup date or change it by clicking on the calendar icon.

26. Indicate the pickup ready time and close time.


27. If you would like to use a Ground Call Tag, select that option in the return label

type dropdown.




32. Enter the item description.


33. Verify the pickup date or change it by clicking on the calendar icon.

34. Indicate the pickup ready time and close time.


35. For all return label types, verify the account number you would like to bill your

transportation cost to.

36. Although not required, enter your reference.


37. Although not required, enter an RMA number

38. Click the Edit link in Special Services to view and/or choose any special services

related to your shipment.


39. Click the Edit link in the Pickup/Drop-off section to view your options.

40. Click the Edit link in E-mail Notifications to send shipment, exception, or

delivery notifications to yourself, the recipient, and two others.


41. Click Calculate to view rates and transit times related to your shipment.

42. Click the Ship button.


43. Print the return label(s) or confirmation(s) of the transaction.
