ANNUAL FUNDRAISER WHEN: JUNE 4TH @ 1:30 PM

WHERE: IN FRONT OF THE NURSING HOME

We are most grateful this spring for the generosity of many people and organizations which allowed us to purchase a new bus! The residents and tenants have been out for a couple of bus rides and they are very happy with their new smooth ride. Thank you again for your thoughtfulness and generosity!

We are preparing for our annual Plant Sale fundraiser. This year it will be held on Sunday, June 4. We are opening it up to the public for the first time. Mae is picking out special plants to guarantee a large variety of items to choose from. Please plan to join us for a great afternoon of fun and memories.

A special thank you to all who donated money for the planters, which are enjoyed immensely throughout the summer and well into the fall by our residents, families, and visitors.

We will be adding “bricks” to our Memory Garden (in front of the building) in loving memory and in honor of individuals who have greatly impacted our community. What a wonderful way to remember someone special! If you would like to donate a brick, please contact Laurie Kreul.

In closing, I want to wish all mothers a Happy Mother's day! What a special day to celebrate someone that has shaped and guided us through our lives. We never outgrow the need for our moms!

We are so appreciative of the Eastern Star staff for the kind and compassionate care they give our Dad and Grandpa. Staff members from each and every department take the time to smile, greet by name, and stop and visit with him and with us. They approach with respect and genuine friendli-ness. Dad enjoys choir practice every Tuesday and Thursday and we are impressed with the wide array of other activities offered every week. As a daughter who lives in Maryland and visits only every month or two, it is great to be able to rely on the nursing staff to keep me immediately informed of any changes in planned care or condition between visits. Dad feels at home here and frequently comments, "They are all so wonderful and nice." Glenn Remmen’s Family

Thank you to the Ellen Drewes-Stoen’s class for coming to visit our residents. They truly enjoy their company.
