Come to the waters the week before Holy

Week in 2016 for this Lenten opportunity for

practioners of Centering Prayer to deepen

your contemplative journey in the

contemporary world. It is a week long

experience of integrating contemplation and

action through silence, solitude and

community. The retreat offers two tracks.

The Intensive Retreat provides an opportunity

to deepen the practice of Centering Prayer

in an atmosphere of profound silence and

community support. There are six 30-minute

Centering Prayer periods daily. The prayer is

supported with viewing of a selection of Fr.

Thomas Keating’s Spiritual Journey video

series. Private interviews with the staff are

available. An established centering prayer

practice is highly recommended.

The Post-Intensive Retreat provides an

opportunity to deepen the practice of

Centering Prayer and Lectio Divina (Praying

Sacred Scriptures) in an atmosphere of

profound silence and community support.

There are seven 30-minute periods of

Centering Prayer daily. Participants observe

Grand Silence four days during the retreat.

Previous participation in an 8 or 10 Day

Intensive Retreat is recommended for the

Post-Intensive.

What is such a retreat (Intensive) like? It is a pilgrimage of sorts. One leaves the known and familiar for the unknown and the unfamiliar”
