Resysta has succeeded where many failed: we developed a weather- and water-resistant material which truly has the noble look and feel of wood. A material obtained from a renewable resource, which does not splinter or rot over time, which saves resources and can be produced anywhere at consistently very high quality. We are excited to share with you and have you discover the material with endless possibilities: Resysta

The Vision
Replace the use of tropical and chemically treated wood with Resysta

Wood has a lot of disadvantages in nearly all aspects
Wood: • Splinters and cracks • Does not maintain original color, greys over time • Natural cell structure (lignin) results in water absorption • Moisture results in deformation • Rots and is prone to fungal decay • Is time consuming and expensive to maintain • Not a sustainable resource, especially tropical hardwood

6
We solve this problem with rice husks
• Basic ingredient of Resysta is rice husks • Rice husks contain a high amount of silica

7
What is Resysta?
More than 100,000,000 metric tons of rice hulls (or “husks”) are generated each year throughout the world¹:

“Marriage” process
Some miracles happen… some are invented
The key of the Resysta invention is the “marriage” process between the
natural fiber and the polymer:
• A complex procedure (PTRH-Technology) enables us to treat the rice husk
so that this marriage process can take place, providing Resysta with its
unique properties. Since the 1960’s Japanese companies tried to mix rice
husk and polymer but never came up with a viable product.
• Resysta is a truly unique material with polar properties

Patents and production know-how
Patents
• Patent application on formulation submitted in January 2010
• International patent application No. PCT/EP2010/001064
• Patents approved for United States, Singapore and Japan as of 2014, EU in 2015 -
several countries to follow
• Working outside the patent will result in non-satisfactory look and feel of the
product, as well as inferior technical quality
Most importantly Resysta has been extensively tested and has been proven in the field for over a decade, a strong barrier to entry for potential competitors

What makes Resysta unique and superior?
• Looks and feels like high quality wood
• Water resistant
• Exceeds many times the lifetime of wood
• 100% recyclable
• Sustainable raw material
• Price is lower than hardwood
• High UV resistance
• Workable like wood, but also like a polymer
product (extrusion, injection molding,
calendaring)

What makes Resysta unique and superior?
Our passion for wood drove us to develop not just any substitute, but a material that astounds even experts in terms of look, feel and weight. The amazement we regularly experience from carpenters shows us that we did everything right. We consider Resysta, our successful innovation, to be the evolution of wood. Carpenters can process the material like its natural cousin: sawing, drilling, glazing, sanding, oiling etc.

… the demand for wood has been steadily increasing…
Market
Historical demand for wood:
1960: 1.5 billion m3 ; 2010: 4.5 billion m3
This amount equals a fully loaded train with a length of 40 times the circumference of the earth and a turnover well over 500 billion USD
• The demand for wood will steadily increase with the increase of the world population
• In 2030 in Europe alone the demand of wood will be over 400 million m3 more than the actual availability*
