Description:

ViPR is an automated Storage management software. It helps the user or the admin in various storage related operations. It provides a single control plane for heterogeneous storage systems to data center administrators.

Device Qualification on ViPR: We have to qualify ViPR with different supported devices, including EMC arrays(VNX,VMAX,VPLEX), switches, third party arrays, VMware Supported features, different OS etc. This device qualification is based on both FC and iSCSI connections. The validation is done on both cli and GUI (preferably). Selenium web driver – Java is used for automating test cases. Functionality and feature tests are also included and the bugs are tracked using a tool called as Jira.

Mode of testing: GUI, CLI, GUI – automation.

Role and Responsibilities:

Description:

Openstack is free source, storage management software similar to ViPR. It’s been used all over the world by most of the companies which includes EMC customers. 2 varities – North bound and South bound.

Openstack Northbound validation: The validation of the openstack supported EMC arrays (VNX, VMAX) and ViPR supported EMC arrays (Openstack not supported arrays) – (VPLEX, Extreme IO) are qualified against the north bound setup.

Mode of Testing: GUI, CLI in both ViPR and openstack.

ViPR design and implementation Guide: The Web app front end is built using HTML and bootstrap plugin. Mysql is used for storing data and javascript, servlets are used as backend code. The tool displays with few dropdowns and input boxes for customers which will make the customers to enter their requirements as well as other details easily. This will help a lot in implementing the product in their environment by analysing on different use case scenarious.

Description:Longevity is a tool where the product is made to run for a longer duration and observing/recording its performance metrics variation.

Longevity: Longevity tool was supposed to execute or run the EMC appliances continuously for a specified time, where the product is monitored for their performance deviation. Responsible for dashboard development using bootstrap in JavaScript. Was mainly responsible for Tool Tip in dashboard using open Tip plugin. The dash board used to represent the performance metrics variation at specific time with very dynamically changing tooltip contents.

Role and Responsibilities:• Worked on longevity 1.1 and longevity 2.0.• Single point of contact for Longivity project from India.
