Environmental Experience

University of Iowa Office of Sustainability - Lead Intern on Educational Outreach Programming May 2014 – May 2016, 15 hrs. a week

Created and presented environmental education events Carbon Footprint Survey, Green Adventures Programing, and Youth Writers Program.

Represented sustainability initiatives on campus including: student gardens, sustainability in higher education, local foods, and global climate change.

Lectured and presented on topics to students, faculty, and staff in environmental science including water quality, waste and recycling, organic food, greenhouse gasses, and environmentalism.

Created marketing and communication plans for activities and University of Iowa Earth Month programming.

University of Iowa Student Government - Sustainability LiaisonMay 2015 – April 2016 10 hrs. a week

Developed and executed sustainability platform initiatives including: composting programs, sustainable initiatives funding, and purchasing

Directed and advised students on various projects: butterfly habitat restoration, solar panel installation, campus gardens, and bike amenities

Managed and allocated $40,000 of spending on sustainability programs at the University of Iowa

KRUI Radio - Host of Round River Radio Spring 2015-Spring 2016 5 hrs. a week

Host and creator of sustainability themed talk-show with topics from the environment and sustainability.

Interviewed authors, activists, business leaders, professors, and politicians on sustainability and environmental initiatives.

Produced/edited weekly audiocast.

Created and maintained social media platforms.

University of Iowa Bike Friends– Co-founder Fall 2014- May 2016 5 hrs. a week,

Cofounded safe cycling advocacy organization.

Coordinated and cohosted rides, volunteers, and events of bike maintenance, safety and awareness, and routes.

Hosted free bike tune-ups at the University of Iowa.
